Burleson not getting it done.
I assume you were watching closely his first at bat and Holmes pitches. First pitch was outside (ump calls it a strike ) , then he throws two more pitches for 'ball's .. Count 2-1 .. then 4 th pitch was above the corner of outside strike zone. Burly takes again .. Ump calls it a strike .
So 4 pitches and none of them in the strike zone yet Burly has 2-2 count on him . His good eye for taking all four was screwed by the ump.
Then the pitcher throws a high fastball .. Yes, Burly goes for it but can't blame him much. With 2 strikes on him and two pitches out of the zone already called 'balls' he probably figured I better swing or risk getting called a strike out .
Running out of chances. Keep making excuses. Yeah those two were questionable, but no doubt the one he chased was six inches above the zone. He is running out of chances. He peaked his last year in AAA.

Wind blowing hard in from left field. Per Mets broadcast. You’ll have to demolish it to get it out in left.

Saying those two called strikes were 'questionable' is not even close. Neither 'just missed ' the line on the box . IF there was ABS system , BOTH would have been overturned 100% . Yes, the one he chased was 6 inches high.. Grant you that but when you have 2 strikes on you that both were NOT in the box , I am not going to jump on his back . The guy had one swing in that 5 pitch at bat. Pretty tough when you strike out and the pitcher did not throw one ball in the box . As I said, Burly had a 4 pitch walk there.

Last 47 innings, since the Astros 2-0 win, we have scored only in seven innings, all one run except one.

It’s like every time I look up we’re behind. I went upstairs for three minutes to change when Gray finished the bottom of the first, and when I came back down, had missed the entire top of the second.

Walker's not hitting, but his fielding has improved about 500%. Another nice catch aggressively coming in on a ball.

MLB Gameday (which uses MLB’s Hawk-Eye tracking system data and player-specific estimated strike zones) shows pitch #4 did tick the top of strike zone (just barely). So there was only one clearly missed call in that PA.

Walker's defense has been one nice surprise so far.

1,2,3's will do that. If you wanna see the Cards on offense you have to be on your toes.

Yeah, I think hitting a few HRs went to his head. He's a guy who needs to hit liners and grounders.
