I say sending this goofball of a relief pitcher out on that mound one more time should be a fireable offense and I mean like immediate firing and not allowed back on a plane to StL kind of firing!

This is EXACTLY why the Cardinals are taking this approach. They’re going to allow Fitzpatrick to work his way through his struggles. He pitched pretty well last year, especially for a Rule 5 guy. He might get sent down eventually, maybe for Riley O’Brien. But, he’ll be back. Stop worrying about the Ryan Fitzpatrick’s and focus on the Matthew Libertore’s, Thomas Saggese’s, and Ivan Herrera’s.

MO’s refusal to cut bait with Mikolas is a major cause of this. Remove him for an 8th reliever but then again MO’s ability to sign good relievers is a crapshoot. Some signings are good others not so.

No, their bullpen last season was the sole reason they finished over .500. Now, with largely the same guys, they have been really bad so far this season. Mikolas was there last season too. Now, it's true Mikolas is not an effective MLB starter any longer, over the course of an entire season. But, he's not the reason the bullpen stinks. The bullpen stinks because the relief pitchers can't get enough guys out. Why blame a non-bullpen arm for poor bullpen performance? That's like when Bernie used to blame Mikolas' poor performance on bad defense. No, maybe it's.....Mikolas.
