lol, no one knew for sure but...

the consensus is most likely lights that hang somewhere in the stadium and they wanted to test them out at ground level so if there were an issue they wouldn't have to be put up and then brought back down, then put up again etc etc etc

Worse 3 hitter in the league?

1, 2, and 4 should all be better hitters than the 3rd spot. The 3rd hitter comes up with bases empty more often than the 4th hitter.

Must be analytics that determines the lineup. Winn needs to bat 9th until he gets his hitting stroke back. I like WC hitting 3rd to flip with with Donovan. Maybe Oli wants that heft-Right hit position sequence.

Worse 3 hitter in the league?

I wouldn’t go there. 9 teams had a SLG% below .400 from their 3 hitters last year, including us thanks to Goldy, Nado, and Gorman. Donovan had a .417 SLG% last year and his OPS would have been pretty much league average for 3 hitters. Sure he’s not an ideal 3 hitter, though, I’d prefer Contreras hit 3rd and Herrera 4th with Nado 5th.

We might get 25-30HR between our 3 and 4 hitters

Hey, I’ll give him credit for putting Noot back at leadoff where he should be At least he has Noot, Donovan, and Contreras in the top 3 names, just the last 2 being flipped. Herrera should definitely be in the top 4 or 5 hitters though, I completely agree. Really it’s a lineup that I can’t complain too much about, which is a great improvement over last year.

Agree. i would also flip wynn and Scott in the order so when Scott gets on Noot is behind him and takes a lot of pitches anyway which would give him a chance to steal. would like to see contreras and Donovan flipped also and Herrera hitting higher but no big complaints. Considering some of the very questionable lineups oli put out last season this one isnt too bad.
