I'm still here as well, along with Vlad Jr's 2nd HR last night in only his last 157 PA's

... Tucker is keeping me somewhat afloat.
I’m so grateful you stopped me from trading for Bichette
Tucker’s a beast. Usually kicks it into high gear this time of year, but he’s been great all season.
Bichette last 14 days, .391, 1.049

Like clockwork… I traded him in a different league about 14 days ago

While it may seem a bit premature it is never too early to look ahead to next season.
Assuming we have a 2nd season and I see no reason not to. Can we give some thought to a Keeper Scenario. Even if only as little as 1 or 2 keepers..
Can't go too far as in 3 or more per team as it potentially locks up too much talent for too long. Assuming you have 3 years of control.
Food for thought.

Locking up talent isn’t a problem… but if you do have a lot of potential keepers, IMO it can damage the integrity of a league. Non-competitive teams will drop otherwise useful players chasing after September call-ups, leaving them up for grabs to teams higher in the rankings. The league winner shouldn’t be decided on the basis of whoever wins that lottery.
I’m definitely open to the idea of having a few keepers this year, but it should be a league decision.

Absolutely. Put it to a vote along with any other suggestions team owners may have.
The IL needs some thought as well.
Should not be a limit. Why penalize an owner for bad fortune.
In past lives usually had a restriction on not being able to draft more than 2 players on the DL . Would get injury replacement picks after last round of draft.
DL players remaining were not eligible to be drafted till they came off the DL and were then subject to the waiver or claim process.
But once on a roster if any player got hurt he went to the DL and you were able to claim an injury replacement subject to waiver order. Came off the delay you needed to drop somebody.

Your last paragraph describes how this league currently works.
I think four IL spots are more than enough. Not sure if “unlimited IL” is even an option. Managers should have the judgement to use those spots wisely - eg, not wasting one on DJ LeMahieu, who is worthless when he’s healthy.

I think the designation of a keeper league really needs to happen prior to a draft and not something done midseason. Guys would draft differently or hold onto certain players longer.
I think we'll have manager churn going into next season.
IF we considered keepers going into next season, my recommendation would be that only players that were drafted or acquired via trade are eligible, and you'd keep them as a pick higher than the round they were picked... something to that order.
Food for thought as we head towards the offseason IMO.
I'm against unlimited IL or really big IL. Guys hold players unnecessarily and limits the FA pool. Send them back out into the wild.

His next request will be unlimited “NA” spots, so we can stash away 37-year-old first baseman while they spend a month in the minor leagues. Basically eliminate any common sense from roster management - that’s the plan.
