Every team has injuries. And the Cardinals have been the beneficiary of having just two pitchers the entire year go on the IL. And they were relievers who weren't very special. The Cubs and Dodgers lost top starters for long periods. The Cubs lost their top starter for the season very early.
And how did this team do with Arenado, Donovan and Burly in the lineup? Not very well. Arenado's noodle bat especially is not missed.
They were 9 over .500 at one point.
And they've gone 23-34 since that date, posting the worst record in the NLC and the 3rd-worst overall record in the NL.
All of which means they have a less than 1% chance of playing in October.
