It was a horribly dumb play.

However I wouldn’t say he was not a team player. He was just trying to make a play that you have less than second to decide on. Horribly bad decision by him.

This was a winnable game by the Cards, and they coulda/shoulda, but some costly misplays figured in the scoring... No "home-sweep" this time...

absolutely brutal ways to lose a game you totally dominated… walks, dumb[ash].. fielding play from Donovan, and some misplaced confidence building final at bat from the O-fer ss. Gorman should have hit- period.

Wish the relievers in extra innings inns would concentrate on getting an out with the first batter..jojo gift-wrapped that win by walking him. Four walks, four runs.

Donovan's mistake was costly. The whole team should have been yelling at him telling him where to throw it. Not sure if he got any help.

Runner on 3B must have gotten a great lead/jump. Not sure Donovan could see that while fielding the ball.

The runner jojo walked wouldnt have scored if not for donovans miscue. The first run that scored is the extra inning ghostrunner that starts on 2b.

I've never said it but I have wandered about that since the roster was complete. Great point Juan.. Too much faith in a sophmore bound to have a slump. I'm not down on this team by any means but....... (bleep).... Who backs him up when he needs some Memphis time?

Every player must know where he is going to throw the ball before the pitch is ever thrown.
Donovan didn't.
That is just bad baseball.
Lesson learned.
STL is still 3-1.
