All in good fun, Matt… I’m sure they will all be doing what they’re supposed to do, someday.
Maybe even Cabrera who, when I traded for him had a 2.95 FIP vs. a 6.05 ERA and almost 14 K/9, but then immediately ended up in the IL with Kelly and Rodriguez when I got him.
Cabrera has an ERA over 7

Something tells me you think he was supposed to have an ERA around 2.95? Maybe we’re getting to the crux of your problem… hehe
No, his FIP before his last start was 2.95. He was 13.97 K/9, 4.66 BB/9, 0.93 HR/9, but with a .395 BABIP against him through his May 2 start. The trade was done before his May 7 start that landed him on the IL.

I don't necessarily think he'll have 2.95 ERA, but I think he's a lot better than a 6 or 7 ERA - plus worth a relatively high number of strikeouts.
Yes, he could eventually be worthwhile… and that was a tough break. Wouldn’t expect him back for at least a month, and the Marlins will let him take his time.

Valdez was obviously the heart of that trade… he should help. His results are never what I think they should be, b/c his stuff is mind-numbingly good.

Just peeped your roster… man you have a lot of guys who have been complete a s s. Xander / Julio / Dansby / Springer / Abreu. Yuck
At least he wasn’t dumb enough to pick up Alex Lange. I now realize that you dropped him for the sole purpose of destroying other people’s teams.

Came in today, down 0-4 - 0.2 IP, 5 H, 2 BB, 4 ER

I was starting to think he could work his way back to the closer’s role… 🤬

Could be worse - your offense could go 5/45 again, a .111 BA with a .344 OPS.
It’s shocking… I thought for sure Tyler O’Neill was on his way to MVP.

You might want to consider adding a bench bat to spell your various slumping players. Carrying Orelvis is sort of pointless… plus, I believe he’s injured.

I just had 5 starters go DTD in 24 hours, so forgive my lack of sympathy 😉

I know it's not for everyone. I've played for about 25 years and have two long-standing leagues running. We'd be looking probably for a 10-12 teamer pretty standard roto format through Yahoo.

If you're not interested in the league but want to chat fantasy strategy / keepers / draft prep, have at it.

I've been playing fantasy baseball since 1986.. even designed my own scoring chart we all had to use by hand with the old newspaper and calculator ..(oh the exciting days of running to the store at 4 AM to grab the sports section to write down the daily stats by hand ) I do Yahoo Fantasy baseball now and love it (in 11 leagues (some high dollar ones) I'd be interested but my only concern would be dominating the league so much that everyone else quits.
Well…
1. You’re a little late
2. That’s some bravado for being awfully late, conveniently so… so that you wouldn’t have to actually back it up

I never did that many teams in a year, too much to track and you’re just less vested in righting an underperforming roster.

But maybe next year you’ll respond in less than 2 months and you can be considered to replace any dropouts!

I whiffed badly in drafting closers but figured best to cut bait quickly if I didn’t think that path existed. I don’t think they trust that he has any idea where his pitches are going.

O’Neill has 1 RBI and a .519 OPS in the last two weeks… ya, that’s definitely not a problem, at all. You’re making this so easy 😂

You drafted Alzolay ahead of Jansen :D

There’s typically a feeding frenzy of all the worthwhile closers, and it’s almost always too early in the draft. You might have panicked a little… but Lange seemed to have some security, or more than the Tigers offered him.

The only top shelf closer I drafted in 3 leagues this year was Clase, and I’m currently trading him for Matt Olson…

Yeah… it’s just one of those things, I keep thinking THIS is the year that Kenley Jansen can’t do it anymore. It’s kind of like how Justin Turner gets drafted way lower than his production always merits!

Ironically I did really well in my points league with Robert Suarez and Evan Phillips. We only roster 7 pitchers per week and it’s either 6 SP / 1 Closer or 5 SP / 2 Closers.

I took Phillips at 106 and Suarez at 231 in a 12 teamer. I was targeting Suarez in ours but DJ grabbed him a round or two higher than that range.

Ryan Weathers perfect through 5. I’m changing my name to Quincy Weathers if he stays that way… only 56 pitches.

Bleeder through the infield about a minute after I posted that… of course.

Looks like he faces the Mets next start, so I *might* hold on to him. The rolling auditions will continue, but think I’ll be good w/ Ryan/Steele/Jones/Montgomery/Paxton as my top-5, barring injury… wouldn’t be great in a shallower league, but probably good enough to stay 1-5 in most cats in ours (I hope).

My guy Eric Fedde running away with the best 21st round pick of the draft! 7 scoreless tonight, ERA at 2.60, WHIP 1.06, 50 K in 52 IP

Sure wish the Cardinals would’ve gone after him… but I digress. You recall I put his name out there early in the offseason as a guy I wanted Cards to pursue?

Yeah, yeah.

If you were in a casino, people would want to rub your head for good luck. Fedde, Lopez, Houck, Crochet… 😂

I think Fantasy Pros graded my draft pretty poorly so they must be quite confounded to see me atop the standings right now.
You’re currently 6th in the “power rankings”… I’m 10th, lol.
Power rankings?? I haven’t seen this…
Update - you’ve graduated to 5th in Fantasy Pro’s power rankings. I’ve moved up to 9th!

Twelfth place Matt, as always, remains in first by a considerable margin.

I low-key love these power rankings.

I was starting to get frustrated with Bryson Stott and happy I rode that one out, he’s been on an absolute tear. Looking like a home run in the 8th round. Him and Naylor back to back at 117 and 124 are huge overperformers. Fantasy pros can suck it! lol
