This team is an absolute embarrassment.

I don't like Contreras yukking it up with PCA at 1B. Gibson and a lot of others back then hated that kind of stuff.

Different game these days. All about the money. I hate it too. The Cubs are the enemy and it should never be anything but that. Cold shoulder the young punk!

As I’m normally a “glass half full” guy I’ll do my best to say something positive tonight.
I had doubts about how they would handle pending FA’s. As of now:
Mikolas- no doubt gone
Fedde- no doubt gone
Matz- maybe stays if the price is right. He probably gets a better deal somewhere else. Unless of course they pay him to be their closer?
Helsley- Now this may be the biggest decision of all. Could go either way.
Toss in what to do with Arenado of course.
If I had to bet right now I think he’s here in 2026.

So my positive spin? At least the Mikolas/Fedde questions have been answered.

At least Masyn tried to go the other way in that at bat and not pop out again because he was over swinging!

The team is running out of gas. They have too many young guys. They will not acquire any established, veteran talent just like last year. Same result. Dewitt refuses to spend money. Ill admit they suckered me into thinking that we had most of what we needed. It will not happen again. You must draft well AND trade to upgrade your team if you want to contend.
