it's what is happening across the scouting industry for this draft....No definitive 1-1, and really no definitive Top 10....you are seeing more College Pitchers ascending (see my previous ranking)...I think this trend continues, and the College SS's drop out.

Gavin Kilen will likely stay, and his name will garner more and more attention....best college hitter in the draft

there's never been a HS RHP taken 1-1 the MLB draft, and only 2 in the last 10 years have gone Top 5....Hunter Greene and Jackson Jobe. The time usually spent on the prospect usually takes at least 5-7 years (so Collazo says)....Greene took nearly 7 years to develop, Jobe was 4 years to develop.

Way, way too much risk in picking a high school pitcher with the 5th pick.

I'd much rather have a can't miss high school bat (if such a thing exists) or a college hitter who is maybe two years away from an mlb starter's position.

Still love the Wetherholt pick from last season and Davis is starting to look like a winner as well!

that's the industry standard....for the a 2 or 3 success stories, there's a truck load of failures. However, Hernandez stuff is looking like it's almost major league ready. The Changeup is perhaps the best in the pitching class, and his fastball is Mid to Upper 90's. His adjustment to pitching every 5 days from 7-8 days might be seamless, thus cutting his development nearly in half.....who knows? It's a risk, and the College Hitter is always more reliable....but there aren't many good college hitters worth a Number 5 pick. And there's reliever risk with some of your College Pitchers like Doyle and Witherspoon.

I'm actually fine with drafting Hernandez, I can't believe it, but I am....my Only hesitation is this....do the Cardinals have the developmental tools and coaching staff to support Hernandez...at this moment?

Bremner isn't having the best of years. His stuff still grades out well, but there really are better performances for college pitching. Now what's the key here is : Some teams draft off performance, some draft off 2-3 years of performance, some draft based off what they feel the player "will be". There's a big question mark across the board on the "Will Be"

College Pitchers that will likely rank/draft higher than Bremner... Arnold, Doyle, Witherspoon, and probably Anderson . I'm not sure about Pico Kohn, but I like the kid. I believe Witherspoon has passed Bremner as the best RHP pitcher.

As for Cam Cann. , he'(poop) about .330 all season, but no power to speak of. There's lingering injury concerns regarding his shoulder, but nothing has been confirmed on that front. He's not using his speed for 2 straight seasons....he joins a long line of disappointing college bats this season. He might go Top 15 or Top 10 b/c a team will draft based off What the believe he "Will Be"....happens all the time, I think it happens more this draft b/c of all the "??"

I guess the bottom line is that Flores has really got his work cut out for him this draft, finally getting a top 5 pick without a clear top 5 on the board. Ah, well, still better than picking 15-30, lol. I still have faith in him, with maybe a little extra help from Bloom. Gonna be fun.
