One year left on a 4 mil. contract where he probably spent as much time on the injury list as he did playing. Doesn't hit, doesn't move so well. just big and basically gets paid.

Rather they give his minutes to those being Over seasoned in the A.
Please advise all of us which RHD is being over seasoned in Springfield?

Tbh neither do I. Its like they think they are in win now.... its a good trade... but we are not a win now team. Its odd. I guess sell tickets?
Why are we acting like this is an all-in move? We traded 2 surplus 3rd round picks for a serious need. He’ll help the team possibly make the playoffs. The Blues management wants to create a winning team.

Only recently is a right hand shot needed to play on the right and your right others have moved on after not getting a opportunity.

No reason to have a fit. Just say you love it and tells us all how great a gm he is.

Exactly this!

Try telling Mr. Stillman, "but we are not a win now team."

Which of our d-men, particularly on the right side, are currently being overseasoned in the AHL?

Also he played for Monty in Boston so there's familiarity

Its a good trade I said... I dont see the mentality though. Trading away 4 picks seems like win now. They arent win now. U think they are win now?

Had bad advanced stats last year, so no wonder Chayka wants him gone. Interesting we have now traded for two “hockey players” who don’t have great advanced stats. We are definitely still more old school in our scouting.
And got rid of one who did.

To those of you bi***ing about this now, what is the downside to getting a defensive defenseman for 2 3rds. Our defense has been a big issue, especially on that 3rd pairing, and this helps fix that. Gives Jiricek a little more time to get his feet wet this year, then ready full go next. I swear some of you are planted bots just trying to get a reaction.

We had many extra picks. Might as well use them to get better now, and use the other picks to get better in the future. Basic asset management

I don't understand treating the hard earned 3rd rounders like PEZ candy either, but apparently Blues management thinks they can win this year.

Not necessarily. We have a 4-5 person analytics dept.

One thing about some of those advanced stats is they’re often very situational. Put a guy that should be a 3rd pairing guy on your 2nd pairing and the team as a whole is really bad (like Toronto was this past season) and it should be no surprise his metrics look poor. But Carlo’s been in the league 10-11 years so he’s a pretty known commodity.

We know he’s not amazing but his job will be to hold down the fort and provide some stability to the 3rd pairing. Heck of a better parter for Fowler than Holl. Or Kessel or Tucker.

I’ll go a step further. As long as the chemistry is there with the team, I would think about an extension for Carlo. If he would come back on a 4 million AAV for 2-3 years, he’s the kind of defensive steadying force you need for the backend. He’s still only late 20s and we are going to need some veteran leadership with the youth we have coming. Nothing wrong with this move at all.
