With Torres's defensive flexibility and high OBP he is a logical bench piece moving forward if nothing else.
I agree. Good entry.

C. Bloom is going to have to take JAGesse away (AAA and then toss him into any deal he makes midseason) from Oli who just can't seem to stop himself from playing this slug. :x
Bloom needs to be better than this…..running out clearing overmatched clearly nonproductive players for GOD knows why???? is not helping these other kids confidence with them knowing they’re losing winnable games.
First year on the job as POBO you don't want to get off on the wrong foot w/your Manager by removing players he likes and for some insane reason Oli loves him some JAGesse. ::crazya::

But the guys a nothing, I've been calling him J.A.G now for two years.

He'll be gone once Urias is activated, his days here are numbered!
If you have to tiptoe around Oli Marmol…..you shouldn’t be a POBO

He has hit his entire life until this year. the chance of a mean reversion is strong.
Thomas' Mother died when he was in high Scholl and he has, in a way, dedicated his career to her memory.

Really scuffling bad at this point. I am sure he is more disappointed than we are.
He has scuffled his entire MLB career. He has 410 major league ABs. Hasn’t hit yet.
WTF does his dead mother have to do with anything. My Dad died. I still went to work and did my job.
He’ll hit. Just needs a little more time.
What do you see?
I ask because I am interested in your opinion.
I know his STAT's and not interested in seeing those.

I'm not Oli fan either but he is going to be here for at least another season until BDWJr gives the okay to fire him so better they get along.

How much would Donovan in LF add to the length and depth of LF - as well as other positions?
Bloom made several good moves - trading him was not one of them.
To date

Donovan has 30 TB same as the Cardinals anemic catcher
Church has 49 TB with a far superior D.

Seattle overpaid for the wrong 2B.

+1 but Mel will double triple down on being wrong. Donovan went on the IL already the first half which I predicted he can’t help teams when he’s not on the field and always missing games with various ailments bloom was a genius for trading him when he’s did instead of waiting until the deadline when his value is even lower

He usually claims IL time as a negative. I do too.
The last 3 full seasons don't suggest he does well at that.
This season is a continuation of that so far.

He's a good player with limitations including although a utility guy
the outfield is not really an attribute of his.

I agree. No one can tell me why he is special. Why he would fit in and then transcend this team. He’s a part of the old regime. Has been out forever.

And then, i raise my head; and look into the eyes of a Stranger. I’ve always known that the mirror never lies.

Blaze Jordan is another. You could call him up just to get some DH at bats part-time. But since he's primarily been playing 3B at Memphis, I imagine that's how the the Cardinals view him. And they probably want to give Gorman a little longer leash before they really start letting him hear footsteps by way of having a new 3B join him on the roster.
Interesting take on Gorman. Not familiar with the minors so to hear this is very interesting. Gorman defensively has been solid, even more than that, but offensively he's infuriating.

I’m not sure where the strain would be. I was told Bloom sets the roster and Oli fills out the lineup?? If ole TS isn’t in the dugout then he isn’t in the lineup.

Agree
I admit it’s not ideal but biding time until Noot is back.
Then we’ll see who is in CF? Church deserves the job but they probably want to also give Scott some leash.
As for Noot? Whether he stays or is dealt you HAVE to play him!
Hopefully our Corner OF’s next ST will be Walker & Baez?
The Noot return will be interesting!

IMO,
If there are issues, "strains" or some need to "build a relationship" about
who is on or off the roster then communication isn't good. Odd for a POBO who
seems to have excellent ability to communicate and they've been together
for a while now.

I think TS has been given a limited opportunity. He's not succeeded in that. Without
any more injuries he will see Memphis soon.

I get it. Frustrating when the team is winning games and it appears the best roster isn't always played. Thing is - it IS still a rebuild. And they do want to see if Saggese is ever going to hit ML pitching. Remember he hit to a 847 OPS in AAA in 2025. His minor league stats in total are 843 OPS.

I don't claim to be a scout and don't know if he has a flaw that won't be fixed. Might be he is (as Rock says) he is just a guy. JAG. I don't have any skin in the game and am not a shill for Saggese. Just opining a possible reason. It seems the better choice now on the roster would be Fermin. But if they are still auditioning Fermin is 27 and Saggese is 24.

I think it will be a moot point when Noot returns and the OF settles into Noot-Church-Walker. Until the AS break and they deal Noot.

It will be interesting what they do with Nootbaar at the trade deadline. 1)Is he healthy and productive ? 2) are the Cardinals in the thick of the race ? 3) if they are, would they trade Nootbaar for help this season for the pennant race or for a prospect?
Right now, with LF situation, I don't see the Cardinals even considering trading Nootbaar at the trade deadline unless Baez in red hot at AAA. Unless the Cardinals have fallen way back in the Divisional race. Note, the LF situation is pretty good with Church there. However, he might be better utilized in CF when Noot returns.
