I haven't looked up but I wouldn't be surprised if he is the last player to get 100 RBI with that few home runs and strikeouts. Analytics models today say players need to focus on launch angle and exit velocity.
FYI, a few outliers I found:
Allen Craig had 97 RBI on 13 HR in 2013.
In 2011, Micheal Young of Texas had 106 RBI and 11 HRs. He also had 103 RBI and 14 HRs in 2006.
In 2011, Victor Martinez of Detroit had 103 RBI and 12 HRs.
In 2009, Bobby Abreu of the Angels had 103 RBI and 15 HRs. He also had 107 RBI and 15 HRs in 2006.
In 2003, Edgar Renteria had 100 RBI and 13 HR.
In 2000, Jeff Cirillo of Colorado had 115 RBI and 11 HRs.
Cool. We should have kept Renteria.
Didn't the team want him to stay but he chose to chase money in Boston?
I guess that’s one way to frame it.
Another way to frame it is STL wanted him, but BOS wanted him more.

I’m cool with him leaving his replacement was MVP of the 2006 World Series

Last season, there were only 16 batters with 100+ RBIs.
Added them as well and they Cardinals were not alone. This does not diminish their need to achieve the 100 standard, but it does make this a moot point because near half of the teams have no one who does this.
Someone may push 80, but there has been no power lineup injection to suggest otherwise.
No one jumps off the page in terms of that potential for me this season, unless one thinks JJ is the second coming of AP.

1987 Willie McGee 105 rbi and 11 HR.
Herr and McGee had Jack Clark batting behind them. They saw a lot of pitches to hit.

Oddly, Hernandez did the same thing 8 years earlier in his 1979 MVP season - 11 HR, 105 RBI.

Eckstein got more out of his ability than any player I've seen. Still we should have kept Renteria.

If Nootbaar gets healthy quickly and he and Wetherholt are in the 1 and 2 hole most the season, then Herrera and Burleson both should have a really good shot at 100 RBIs.
Not sure why some can't understand this.
Those two at the top of the order could have a combined .345+ OB% giving Hererra & Burleson plenty of RBI opportunities.
Will they cash in?
Who knows?
But they're going to get many shots when those two are at the top of the order together.
