See the ball, hit the ball. The simpler the better. Stop pulling the ball and be aggressive in the strike zone early in the count so that you do not fall behind and give the pitcher a further advantage. It's all simple. Walker was fine until our hitting coaches got hold of him. Musial never worried about his launch angle.
Walker was fine until pitchers adjusted ... fixed it for ya!

You said gray and Contreras weren’t good players the cardinals were stupid for signing them and they weren’t worth their contracts bashed them their entire time in St. Louis then as soon as they were traded you decided they were actually good players and worth their contracts lol then who can forget O’Neil you said he sucked his entire time here how stupid mo was for keeping him then he went to the red Sox and you posted after each home run how great he was and how stupid mo was for trading him then after he returned to sucking you went silent about how great it was. So your opinions change on how good a player is or not depends on if they are playing for the Cardinals or not

I think I know where all this 'hitting advice ' is coming from. It's Jim Edmond's fault . In watching when he was analyst , rather than anlyzing the game situation, strategy of manager ,etc. he would incesantl nitpick on the hitters .. I watch a lot of other MLB games and the analysts do not go overboard on the batting techniques of the player. They analyze the overall game and what the team's moves and strategies are to win.
I think a lot of Cardinal fans started their own analysis due to Edmond constantly doing it .
I've had baseball fans of other teams watch the Cardinal games with me when Jimmy was analyst they could not get over how it was constant analysis of the swing instead of analyzing the overall play of the game. Drove them nuts. It started spreading to the fans viewing .

THEY weren’t the correct fit for what the Cards required. It doesn’t mean they had absolutely no value as MLB players. Do you understand the difference?

It was amplified with Gorman because the issue was so obvious…..and still is. The guy can barely hit over .200, strikes out all the time, but has great power when he puts a good swing on the ball. But he rarely does so because MOST of his AB’s he’s flying open with his front half and head. This is little league chit and should not even be needed to be talked about on MLB broadcast. But the Cards FO put this type of hitter in the lineup.

Yes you say that now but the entire time since they signed them you said they weren’t good said it over and over and over do understand the difference between what you said after they were signed and their entire time in St. Louis and now what you are saying?

Simple and easy are not the same thing. I’ll bet Musial did think about launch angle. He just didn’t call it that.

I know it's "just" Spring Training and I know his batting line looks good. But, there is just something very different about his look as a hitter. It's hard to explain. When he steps in the box and looks at the pitchers and pitches, it just seems like hitting looks very easy to him

Outside of Goldy in ‘22 Cards fans haven’t seen an actual “good-great” hitter around these parts in quite awhile. Unfortunately CTers have seem to have forgotten what good Baseball and Players are. With many bending over backwards making excuses for at best middling talent
