Let’s see what Baez does. I know what Walker can do or not do. Besides he may be in later. I’m not making much of this first day roster.

Shouldn't have to if we had a manager who had a freaking clue!
Any other managers out there not playing a guy who may or may not even make the OD roster?
No complaints about the players playing. I understand how ST works.
My compliant is the ignorant construction of the players he is playing.
I also understand they are just getting some work in, but might as well put guys in spots where they might actually hit. Why not construct a lineup that can be competitive and makes some sense?

Again, I know early ST lineups mean nothing. But Marmol has shown an inability to get them right even in season, and routinely tries to put guys in spots they don't belong (i.e. Winn leading off).
Agree to disagree. No one (aside from maybe JJW) is getting more than 2 ABs today. So what difference does it make? A week before OD, maybe, but not now.

Besides, for years I was assured on CT that Mo was making the lineups, not the manager. So, as far as I'm concerned, Oli has a clean slate and is free to experiment as he pleases. Unless Bloom is now making the lineup (insert mystery twist music sting here)!

Proving once again Oli show no growth whatsoever as a Manager.
Unless Walker is injured……I’m playing him in every ST on any field that has a game…..what is the point of sitting this guy??
He needs to show he can hit??
No idea unless as you said he's got s some ache and they're just playing it safe.

He needs as many reps at the plate and in RF he can get.
Course lil Oli needs to make sure everyone gets a swing………
And make sure M. Winn gets what he wants even though he s u c k s hitting lead-off.

Pitiful excuse for a manager.
Read where coaches were kicking around having JJ lead off for regular season .. don't put too much into initial ST lineup .. if JJ happens to hit
he will move to lead off sooner rather than later ..Oli and coaches know JJ was leadoff in minors and is comfy there
No he won't.

I guess Walker needs some rest
So not only do we not have a real outfield, but the entire outfield we do have returning from last year is starting the year hurt?

And Pages is our cleanup ?
Bloom has some real work to do

I saw that too.

Makes perfect sense until Noot returns, then I'd love to see JJ with his combination of elite bat skills, extra base hit potential and speed in the #2 hole!

And while I rarely if ever put any stock in spring lineups (why I made the joke about vets being at the top of the order to get their PA's in early so they could hit the gold course and beach), Oli has shown a bad habit of them becoming reality once the season starts.

I don't have to tell you since you know, Winn isn't a lead-off candidate.

JJ puts ball in play in first ever at bat. Good sign ! Grounded to 2nd force out there to end the inning.

J. Oquendo, per Rooney, has said JJW is going to "workout really well" at 2nd base.

I’m not so sure that Marmol isn’t one of the posters on here! After the game he’ll sit back and get his kicks on reading how upset everyone is about his usually stupid lineups! No other reason to send out such a ridiculous batting order.
