More high velo upside..Bloom’s philosophy continues
That's everybody's philosophy these days.
It just seems like a new idea to cards fans because mo was so far behind the times and out of touch
Mo was probably the OG. Just look at those early 2010’s Bullpen Options…
Motte (converted Catcher)
Rosenthal (converted SS)
Kevin Siegrist
Mitchell Boggs (converted SP)
Eduardo Sanchez
Joe Kelly
Maikel Cleto (couldn’t hit a backstop, but when he did, it didn’t stay on the field)
All those guys were absolute flame throwers with backend roles before Helsley & Hicks.
I’m not talking bullpen I’m talking starting pitching. Everyone had hard throwing relievers. Mo rushed the hard throwers with the big arms to the majors and put them in the bullpen instead of letting them
Develop into starters in the minors. He was an OG at derailing starters with top of the rotation stuff trajectory by throwing them in the bullpen

He's only seventeen......
That’s what I thought when I saw he’s throwing 95 wow throwing that hard at that age? Impressive
There's a lyric in there. A bad song though. Sikeston...paging Sikeston. That's exceptional velocity for his age, or any age.
I caught the Winger reference. It might be to "modern" for b-dog.

True, he's not the hair band type. I think his tastes run to when arena rock faded in the early 80s.

My comments were tongue in cheek. Hyperbole. Some of us are not thrilled with the endless parade of children being lauded. Grief!

So you aren’t happy they are bringing in talent? I guess you hate draft day if the Cardinals draft a high school player. I never thought a cardinal fan would be upset at them
Picking up talent

A K-SHE guy, to be sure. Well, K-SHE before they finally broke down and accepted they had to be playing the grunge era guys.

See, I can't listen to K-SHE anymore because it seems like they're playing the exact same playlist that they did when I was in highschool in the 90s, plus whatever butt rock from the 2000s until now. I can't listen to anymore Foghat or Steve Miller.
Honestly, I rarely listen to the radio. I'd rather just listen to the albums I have downloaded on my phone. I pretty much listen to 103.3 when I do, though.

Oh yeah, I stopped with the radio in the pirating era(Napster, Morpheus, kazaa, etc). Youtube/streaming services have all I could possibly want. With rare exception, Pink Floyd and a couple others, there's nothing I would personally queue up on my phone from my youth. Sure, I'd listen to it if it were on, but I'd never go out of my way to find it and play it.
These days, with the streaming services doing their enshitification thing, going back to pirating is looking better and better.

Here’s hoping he becomes the best de Leon the Cardinals have had. If he’s not as good as D Ponce or Jose, that could be frustrating to watch.
tell me you aren't down playing Jose De Leon

I like having something physical when Ibuy an album by a band that I like, so I buy the record and that usually comes with a digital download that I use to put on my phone. I feel like I'm supporting the artist that way, but also have a way to put it inside the magic computer in my pocket that I take with me everywhere.

He led the league in losses, twice. He had a good year or two for us, but I'm hoping this 17 yo, will have a lot more than that, without the disaster seasons mixed in.
