The Cardinals haven't been a threat to parity in many seasons. Your take is silly, but taking my first sentence into account it's borderline asinine.Cardly wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 08:21 am It is ok for fans to post distaste for the deconstruction of this franchise. It is not a good look.
Being consistently told it is the only way to return to relevance is [nonsense].
This is parity at work. The Cards Yankees and Braves can’t be the winners every year. They have to pull back and let other clubs win some too or MLB fails.
An option when when pulling back is to sort of contend. That is what Mo did. Not doing enough to push the club over the top but be entertaining.
Another path forward is to bury yourself for those “pull back seasons” and do a rebuild. That is what Bloom is doing.
It would be a great time for Billy to sell! You did a great job. Your son is not up to this job. Please sell the club! It’s time.

Your hyperbole stinks. I think we'll win AAA championship this year. Being competitive doesn't mean winning a division. It merely means we'll have a chance to win almost any game. There will, of course, be better teams out there in '26.Bully4you wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 07:49 amThe funny part is that Bloom said the Cards would be competitive in 2026!!!CCard wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 07:46 amThere's more to it. No team does this unless they're tanking. Is the prospect of the CBA affecting this? Maybe. One thing is for sure, their plan is to not be competitive at all. No team constructs a roster this way unless they're tanking. It's a shameful future for the once proud Cardinals. Looks like the rest of the Central will beat the Cards like a drum.Bully4you wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 06:24 am They officially have the lowest payroll--If you subtract the money they pay players on other teams to play.
A collection of prospects.
Mattmitch says this is the only avenue to success.
We shall see.
But currently and on paper this looks like a team that finishes in the bottom 5.
I guess we might have a good shot at the #1 draft pick.
It's crazy how far they fell after having a supposed model franchise.
Who the hell will order the baseball package to watch this [shirt]?
Reminds me of the A's that left Oakland.
Gaslighting SOB![]()
They couldn't compete with the best teams in AAA Milb.
Who's gonna watch this garbola is what I'd like to know.

I think the top of the payroll is way too heavy. May and Stanek, have got to go. So does Nootbaar and Romero and Libertore and Pallante. Waaaay to much salary. Hopefully they each shine bright enough to bring more prospects at their given moving times.
