Also, can he not evaluate hitters at all?
No matter the return, I am quite confident you people would’ve complained.
Trust me the Cardinals will get an A out of this deal by every publication that grades it.

Yea he did way overvalue Donovan
He got a 2023 1st, 2023 2nd, 2024 1st, and a 2026 comp pick.
That’s a lot of value for a good not great player with 2 years of control.
AOF, who give a chit where they were drafted…..are they any good now??????
There will be plenty of folks on here that focus almost entirely on these three things:
The 2026 MLB 26-man roster
The 2026 MLB payroll
The 2026 MLB win/loss record
These folks will not be happy through this rebuild for quite some time. The immediate focus and priority for Bloom and Company are really none of those three things. This rebuild is going to take some time (years).
These are the same people who lay on their horn in highway gridlock.
AOF was attempting to assess the trade quality by detailing where the prospects were drafted….2-3yr ago. Who cares…..what matters is are they any good now.
Are you still here?
Your lack of baseball acumen becomes more obvious with every post.
As is often noted.
Paige you were one of the geniuses cheering MO’s idiocy on well into great drawdown……while I was telling you the downturn was coming
And your responses were the same as they are right now…..don’t lecture me on the ability to see and assess baseball talent
The Monday Morning QBing around here is hilarious……
This is a good exchange of thoughts.
AOF turning it into an NFL Jimmy Johnson pick value proposition.
Goldfan could give a toss about Any Future. He wants it now!!!
Satchmo is guilty as charged. Sorry, but true. Took you an awful long time to get into and out of your Acceptance Phase. Acceptance of being stuck on a Hamster Wheel with the only off ramp being Palookaville. You then took up a pitchfork and stormed the gates with the hordes.
But fans, one and all, each in their own inimitable way. Or maybe not, each in their easily predictable ways.
Net Net, we are going to have a long wait till we get back to Championship level play.
Try not to kill each other in the interim. We all want the same thing at the end of the day.
Pray A Core materializes, attendance increases, and we are ready to rumble (Payroll Boost assumed where needed) by 28.

I don’t think it will be by 2028, more like 2030, but by then some of our players will be eligible for free agency unless they are extended! Otherwise the process will start over again. So, wheel keeps turning.

By the way, SF turned to Arraez when Bloom told them their offer was good enough and the Cardinals were going to deal with Seattle.

The kool-aid drinkers here are all in on Bloom. To them he's the golden goose laying golden eggs every time he poots. He's a hatchet man that DeWitt brought in to gut payroll. Nothing more than that from what I can tell. But the kool-aid drinkers are jizzing right now. They're finally going to get a Cardinal team that will lose 90 to 100 games.

They have 5 of the first 72 and 6 of the first 86 picks in the 2026 draft. They’ve added significantly to the farm system with higher upside talent.
If you want the Cardinals to start winning again, you’d think you’d like the guy who is making meaningful strides to add long term talent to the organization.

They love the sustained mediocrity that was winning nothing they’re the same ones that thought that the cardinals were. Going to be able to sustain their 19-8 may last season and win 90+ games they drank the koolaide and thought it was a good team

I get that it's hard for them to understand what the new state of the franchise is... but Bloom was hired to do exactly this. Reset the payroll. Fix the massive player development issues. Upgrade the talent pipeline.
And to be real honest, he's made impressive strides on all 3 very quickly.

Satch, these kids are barely at AA ball, most below. MLB is still a ways off for them. Most won’t be MLB all stars. You know what a lottery this process is past the first 5-10 picks. It’s a numbers game. We collected some chances today. Some high ceiling chances. That is Bloom’s strategy. None of them are super close. Dobbins and Fitts from Boston are close.

Absolutely. It's exciting to me personally. I would think fans would want to have an abundance of young talent in the system

No. I think CT over valued Donny. A good player, but not worth a teams top 2 prospects that many here though he would return.
I agree with what others have stated live Donny, but his age doesn't play well into the Cards timelline.

I'll take that bet. Under on the 90 losses.
