They like their announcers to be like John Kelly,
Professional, knowledgeable, prepared and boring. [John Kelly]
There's nothing wrong with that.
They are now targeting a new, younger audience who want to be entertained.
H.G. Wells said it best. "Adapt or die."
Yeah he's dead.

So in other words you and yours have to be stimulated by nonsense and no information about what's actually going on every 5 seconds or you have to move on to the next shiney object.

Got it.

I find this hilarious. The entire Blues product is so old and stale. It’s actually embarrassing.

Same product as 20 years ago in areas.

An awful team with a dated product. That’s the St.Louis Blues

Yeah I read it.

Please don't tell me that what I prefer is at all boring.

Kerber mumbling through a broadcast where the listener has no clue of what is happening half the time has nothing to do with fresh and entertaining.

I think you are under the impression that I don't like John Kelly. I do and did. I actually thought I was giving him a compliment when I said he was professional, knowlegable, and prepared. Boring is subjective.

Kerber was bearable on radio with Chase

Kerber and vitale are not good. Kerber and a decent analyst, and i think it can work. this circle jerk they start during the game is laughable

especially when Kerber got all butt hurt on the 11am show on 101.1 and said he's not dumbing down the telecast, i laughed, he is the epitome of dumbing down a telecast. And pretty much said if you dont like their way, G[od] F[orgives] Y[ou].

Well I for one have refrained greatly not complaining in commensurate with my total displeasure of this broadcasting change.

And maybe it's a back handed compliment but I don't intend it to be....the Blues seldom eff up like this and I too....don't understand it.

I believe that the primary difference between the Kelly’s and the new guys is their respect for the game and fans.

With the Kelly’s, I never felt like they tried to be bigger than the game. They impressed me with their love and knowledge and dedication to the team and hockey.

When I listen now, I hear guys that love themselves more than hockey. They are very talented, but their heart is not in the right place. They don’t come across as sincere and humble and dedicated to hockey.

Didn't the Cardinals just terminate their deal after New Years?
I'd bet this has something to do with the whole situation -

I mean the channel probably lasts through the season and that's about it. The sale to DAZN didn't go through so main street is essentially broke. I still don't understand why this fact keeps completely getting ignored. He isn't cheap, and main street needed to cut costs, it's as simple as that. One way to cut costs is not renew the contract of a long time employee who makes a lot of money.

Anyone who thinks the Blues dishonored him aren't looking at this subjectively because the company who needed to pay him, has no money.

As we sit today, the Cardinals, the freaking Cardinals, have no idea where their games will be televised and currently have no tv contract. Does everyone understand now?

Just asking.

So the Blues taking the temperature in yhe room as it were couldn't find a way to make it work from their end?

After all it is their product.

what a pleasure listening to Kelly and not the clown show of Kerber, Vitale and kermit.
They better Can this SH show and fix it in off season.
Bare minimum put an end Vitale at least.

Dude is insufferable.

They do not control the tv contract or who are hired. They can give an opinion but don't actually do any of the day to day.

It is what it is, no job is ensured, and JK outpriced himself. Whose to say JK didn't request a raise or wanted guarantees that main street couldn't give. It takes 2 to sign a contract.

I thought Kerber was more than bearable with Chase, I thought he was actually pretty good, especially early on. But he appears to be very influenced by his partner, and in later days when Chase seemed less focused and more apt to go off on tangents, Kerber followed him.

And now Vitale just amplifies that nonsense x10. I really don't get him. I feel like since maybe some folks thought he's fun to have a beer with at the bar or something that meant he'd be a good color guy, except when he's in the booth he seems to think he's still at the bar. Would you ever guess the guy used to play in the NHL? You get almost no professional insight, it's like he Forrest Gumped his way through the league without paying any attention to what was going on around him.
