No more trades means Arenado has 0 trade value and must be released. He won’t be on the team either way.Cardinals1964 wrote: ↑03 Jan 2026 00:20 am What happens if there are no more trades by the Cardinals.
You’re stuck with Arenado, Donovan, JoJo and whoever else you want to throw in there.
I heard today that it’s highly likely that Donovan is on this team to start 2026. Why? Because St. Louis thinks more of him than other teams. That’s the travesty that the Cardinals are. Nobody wants their best All-Star player enough to give up anything that is worth having.
Donovan for Andy Pages. That’s funny.
Arenado for anyone is hilarious. They just want him off the roster. You won’t get a return in talent.
Gorman Sucks, let’s trade him for an All-Star.
Walker should bring 3 top prospects.
Bloom knows nothing even though I work at McDonald’s by day.
I’m just having fun.
No more trades.

Winn is going to be something. I root for all of the Cardinals but see Winn as a possible star. I'd like to root for Arenado and hope that he does well if he is still on the team. I am excited about May. I've posted before that I don't think that they will do well, but there are a lot of elements of this team to get excited aboutCardinals1964 wrote: ↑03 Jan 2026 15:28 pmI’m not as pessimistic. Arenado will be traded. I would like to see others traded but there are not a lot with much value at all. If no one else is traded that is fine. Donovan will bring just as much at the trade deadline as he will now. Its not like Donovan being on the team until the trade deadline is the worse thing that could happen.Cardinals1964 wrote: ↑03 Jan 2026 00:20 am What happens if there are no more trades by the Cardinals.

Mo was definitely guilty of overrating our talent. That flaw shielded him from making bad trades. He could just stand pat. I don't think that Bloom suffers from the same crooked talent assessment lens that Mo did. I'm going to give him some rope to see where we are in a few months, then in a year.Cardinals1964 wrote: ↑03 Jan 2026 00:20 am What happens if there are no more trades by the Cardinals.

I think May will be traded if he is doing well, so I don’t know if he’s worth my loyalty.Voldemort wrote: ↑03 Jan 2026 20:43 pmWinn is going to be something. I’d like to see NA do well, too.
If NA and Donovan are still around, I think it disrupts the rebuild. Call it whatever you want.

I think there are more talented ex-Cardinals that Mo got rid of than what we had in 2025.BrockFloodMaris wrote: ↑03 Jan 2026 21:16 pmMo was definitely guilty of overrating our talent. Well when the word gets out that you want/need to move a player it gets pretty difficult to get a reasonable return.rockondlouie wrote: ↑03 Jan 2026 10:38 amFor sure, universal on both sides.Cusecards wrote: ↑03 Jan 2026 10:08 amThere’s pretty much universal agreement Rock that Arenado needs to be moved.rockondlouie wrote: ↑03 Jan 2026 08:44 am "Stuck" is a bit harsh considering Donovan & JoJo are solid players.
And even if they're "stuck" w/NADO until midseason, his defense at 3rd base is a massive upgrade over Norman who can DH.
But I'd be surprised if Donny & JoJo are seen in Jupiter.
NADO could be unless the Angels pull the trigger.
However....if the offers Bloom is getting are for the Cards to pay half his remaining contract and get ZIP in return you might as well hang on to him?
The FO has already cleared some salary and since Arenado is only going to make $15M next season he may not move until the deadline or next offseason?
BUT
It takes two to tango and thus far no team has stepped forward, other than rumored, and made an offer for NADO.
I still think he's gone before Opening Day.
There are also other 3B on the market ahead of him.

There will be no return player wise for NA. The only thing you can hope for is not paying the team taking him more than his contract.Cusecards wrote: ↑03 Jan 2026 23:46 pmWell when the word gets out that you want/need to move a player it gets pretty difficult to get a reasonable return.rockondlouie wrote: ↑03 Jan 2026 10:38 amFor sure, universal on both sides.Cusecards wrote: ↑03 Jan 2026 10:08 amThere’s pretty much universal agreement Rock that Arenado needs to be moved.rockondlouie wrote: ↑03 Jan 2026 08:44 am "Stuck" is a bit harsh considering Donovan & JoJo are solid players.

Here’s the trade. You take NA and we will throw in a 10 homer .280 hitter for free.
