It's especially funny coming from the girl who recently had a breakdown because someone used the word "spurt".

Silly response to think his utterring those remarks in the workplace does not contribute to a hostile workplace and does not need to be addressed. But issuing a suspension and not termination also acknowledges the difference between what was assumed to be a private conversation and an employee blurting that out in an open office setting. Still does not absolve the organization from addressing so there is no question that this type of language is not condoned or tolerated in workplace. Two game suspension is appropiate imo.
I completely agree. The guy did something completely stupid and asinine but shouldn’t lose his job over it. Suspend the guy and move on. People make mistakes ….give the guy a chance to learn from his and grow to be better.

I find Bleeder preaching for people to ignore it to be mind boggling. He has called Monty a town drunk on numerous occasions on this forum. Monty made a mistake, it cost him a job. People gave him a second chance (which they should have). To keep calling him a drunk is unfair and classless.
People screw up…it doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t face consequences when it happens or condemned for all eternity either.

People need to relax.
Showing up to work intoxicated and a substance abuse issue impacting your employment and potentially the safety of others is the same as making a joke in private to a friend?

I see your point

I think it's pretty obvious that his point was that people make poor choices and generally deserve a second chance.

Idk how people are defending this. You can't say that at work, especially not in front of witnesses (of which there are now millions). It's simple self preservation by the employer to punish him.

He made direct comparison to Montogermy. Hilarious. Keep in mind that dingus said he believes Buchnevich has a substance abuse problem.

This isn’t about 2nd chances. He made a joke to his friend in what he thought was private. This isnt difficult

Huge difference between an error in Judgement and a Character Flaw.
For examples: A character flaw is in someone who constantly brings up past judgement errors by individuals in an effort to besmirch their reputations, or to add support to a view that so many others may disagree with you. It's a real flaw when the person has atoned and paid their debt to society, or when a Court of Law has found the person to be innocent. Additionally, it's also a character flaw to spread rumors and trying to elevate the view others may have of you by doing so, or bragging about someone you know who repeats something that a celebrity may have shared with them in private.
Decent human beings make errors in judgement or poor choices often. Bad Characters have character flaws.

My take.

Highly unprofessional. Sounds like he's in Junior High.
Dumb for an announcer to say anything like that. You have to assume the mic in on.
Do we know who he was talking to?

I think some sort of discipline in necessary. It's inappropriate to a general audience...and that's why.
Harassment? Unclear. Is there history? Who was he talking to?

And I can't believe the dumb comment on antifa getting paid. What a trite comment.

It's not anything other then a guy that broke the rules and received a lite punishment. You know taking responsibility.

If mistakes and thought it was private is all one needs. I can't think of a thing one could be punished for.

It's simple. If you agree to something, be a man and follow up, if you can't whether by mistake or privacy. Take responsibility.

The harassment/hostile work environment has nothing to do with how his friend/coworker feels about it. He said something that was heard by the President and CEO of his workplace, all of Corporate Legal along with NHL General Counsel. Did you all forget about Jeremey Roenick? He wasn't even on an official broadcast.

Please understand, I don't think what he said was a big deal, IF IT HAD STAYED IN THE BOOTH. Could you imagine being at your job with the CEO and Legal standing behind (Men, Women, Prudes, Religious) and you asking a coworker jokingly for a (censored)? If you think your CEO would laugh clap you on the back and ask for one too while they're at it, I'd LOVE to know where you work, and what decade that was.

Its called sexual harassment in the workplace and is frowned upon.
Who did he harass?
How often do you tell people to blow you in the workplace? He stated that publicly. His employer had no option but to take action or its exhibit A in them allowing a pattern and practice of such behavior.
Quite a bit and much worse than that depending on the work place.

Fair enough though, its not an outrageous thing at all outside you obviously can't do that live on air when representing your employer so sure consequences are fair.

I don't mind consequences but its just silly how people act like its outrageous like they live under a rock.

They just said Faulk yeah! It’s inappropriate for children because they know it’s a reference to F yeah.

These plays on inappropriate phrases disgust me. No room for it in a public forum

Just about everything you post is an inappropriate phrase.
