I mean at some point it is possible one of ya'll will be right....just like the blind hog finding a road apple.
Why would you possibly want to keep him at this point?

Well first off if you want to tank then we needn't go further.

But if you want to skate and play for the now and near now.....JB's not washed up he is a viable goalie right now with invaluable experience and many more years in front of him.

He IS big game. He is a great team mate. He IS a franchise player for Saint Louis which imo puts his franchise value over anything you can get back in a trade.

Next we can talk about what we don't know...like who do they get back for trading him? Who becomes the team #1 goalie?

I'm not in the room...can't say he won't be moved.....but reading the signs I see for a guy with more trade threads than anyone he is at best way down the list of players to be moved.

I will be SHOCKED if he's moved. Binner's got the records, and if he finishes out his career here with a couple more runs like 2019 or 2022 or even 2025 (results not withstanding) or manages to win another Cup, I don't see a scenario where his number DOESN'T go into the rafters.

He did not get the Conn Smythe, but he could very well end up in the Rafters instead.

Like I said in the Zherenko thread, if Binner plays in the Olympics and is a big reason they win the Gold and he's moved at this year's TDL with 1.5 years remaining on his contract, a first-rounder and an NHL-ready player should be a given, maybe even more.

If he doesn't play in the Olympics but gets hot and a Cup-starved team that's killing it in the standings loses their #1, I wouldn't move him for less than that.

If he plays in the Olympics but not well enough to remain the squad's #1 and/or his numbers stay as bad as they are in the NHL now with .800s sv pct and +3 GAA, should still fetch a decent draft pick but not sure it'd enough to move him as you never want to sell low on a guy.

It's all about timing with a big-game goalie. At least, this is just my humble, boring opinion. :D

I'll say my guess is if his value soars for most any reason...all the more he stays. If he goes to total kraaap, which I doubt, that's a different story.

But I love that last line of yours putting your own thoughts as opinion and not hard fact like so many do here.
