Only Met player I know of is Rusty Staub.
We could use a CF'er how about Tommy Agee?
Probably not. BTV of -6 (as in, 6 feet under)
Rusty likewise. Now he’s dusty.

Two problems with this:
1) who do the Mets have that would tempt Bloom?
2) isn't this kind of deal the reason the NTC exists?

Perhaps these are only "problems" to you. The Mets have several prospects, or even major league players that would have interest to the Cardinals. I'm not so sure Willson would reject the chance to join the Mets.

My bet is they are giving Victor Scott another shot at CF. As they should. His career minor league OBP is 343. If he can reach even a 320 level he is OK for CF with his defense and base stealing.
I am not always a defense first fan but some guys make enough difference and do all the other things well enough to keep them. Like Ozzie in his early days. But I agree they need more offense then from the corner OF positions. Who knows? Maybe Walker erupts to become a solid hitter we all thought he was.

Agree. Centerfield is lowest on their priority list

Would the Mets be interested in trading their entire minor league roster for the Cardinals’ entire 26-man roster? Asking for Dewitt’s wallet.

I didn't say it was highest on the list.
But its definitely on the list.

If a good deal fell into their laps I’m sure they would go for it but oli was talking about Scott possibly leading off next season and they are high on him and like the progress he has made and given that and the fact bloom has a lot more concerns on his plate I just don’t see anyway he has it anywhere close to something he’s actively pursuing

If Nootbaar is healthy and still around, he's the best current option to lead off. Scott doesn't get on base enough.

His OBP came up 86 points last season
IF he can increase it half as much this season, he'd be solid there.
He had an above average BB%. He'll need some hits. 72% of hits were pulled
or center, there may be something to be found there, using more field.

Oh I agree Scott definitely deserves a third year. Gormans getting another year and he can’t hit or field Scott is at least elite defensively

What you mention with Gorman along with others similar need work.
The team needs to be more athletic. Be good at least on one side of the ball.
Maybe they don't need multiple DH none of which hit 20 HR.
