Re: Winter meetings over...how do you grade Bloom
I'm sure it didn't help ticket sales. But about what I expected. A big fat INCOMPLETE.
Re: Winter meetings over...how do you grade Bloom
Perhaps my interpretation of “ON FIRE” is different from y’all….
But if Donovan is on FIRE and Noot is even more ON FIRE it would seem that teams would have multiple excellent offers and would be returning home with their “FIRE”
Understand that no one really wants NA
WC might be a neutral commodity, certainly not “ON FIRE”
But as each day passes less outcomes exist and your “FIRE” may become an ember….

I've have a couple replies indicating the opposite.82birds wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 20:54 pmnot sure I came across anyone who thinks Nado will be easy to trade.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 20:19 pm Too early to tell. I continue to think Arenado isn't going to be as easy to trade as some think.
just the opposite IMO

Arenado will end up being a wanted commodity through mere attrition. Sooner or later, deadline maybe, a team pushing hard with a good staff and fine infield defense, will see the advantage of his glove.

Have you seen juniors grades!? And the cradle will rock.
Re: Winter meetings over...how do you grade Bloom
This is possibly one of the most idiotic threads of this decade.
You don't grade a POBO on meetings?
You grade him on the off season.
The off season is far from over.
He most likely had many conversations to determine his plan.
We will see what transpires in the coming weeks.
But to grade him poorly on the Winter Meetings? Insane.
But, really....How do you grade him on those meetings!!!
If there were only a clown emoji I could use here.

Nado is just a dump!!!!!Alex Reyes Cy Young wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 22:24 pmNado is the least of their worries or should be. This is about talent acquisition. Donny and WillyC need to be moved for talent and they HAVE to get these players right at least some of them.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 20:19 pm Too early to tell. Nado is just a dump. Who cares if he stays or goes only 2 years left on his contract.
You said it all right there Alex Reyes!!!!!!!

Re: Winter meetings over...how do you grade Bloom
A - Ground work laid for dealing Donny w/multiple offers on the table and he didn't rush to make some people (scouty
) happy by making a bad trade
Also multiple teams interested in JoJo
A - Was able to stir up interest in WillyC (Mets) once P. Alonso signed elsewhere, a team he'd likely approve a deal to
B - Wasn't able to find a team that would take NADO (this isn't all on Bloom, he has no control over NADO's decline and contract)
B - Good Rule 5 pick
BDWJr wasn't going to spend any money so not signing a FA is on him
Quite winter meetings for most teams w/over a dozen teams making no moves and only a few big free agent signings.

Re: Winter meetings over...how do you grade Bloom
For a team that been over Media saying they have the players and are ready to deal……it’s a little disappointing we’ve seen no action. Perhaps their sought after players aren’t really the draw they hoped.rockondlouie wrote: ↑11 Dec 2025 08:54 am A - Ground work laid for dealing Donny w/multiple offers on the table and he didn't rush to make some people (scouty) happy by making a bad trade

I like a POBO who is 1) sticking to his asking price and 2) is smart enough to thoughtfully do his homework before pulling the trigger on a trade.
We saw w/S. Gray if a team meets his asking price, then he has no problem moving quickly.
As for the players we know Donny has elicited interest from 15+ teams and there are already multiple offers on the table, lowball offers for sure and one's likely still in deep negotiations.
JoJo also has a lot of interest, WillyC is garnering some too.
NADO is a tough sell, no team seems to want him and you can't make a trade w/o a trade partner.
Re: Winter meetings over...how do you grade Bloom
I love it!
Let’s “grade” the guy in mid December without ANY knowledge of:
*What he discussed?
*What he was offered?
*What ongoing options he has working?

We'll see what happens. If it's late July then we really don't save much money. I'd just give the job to Saggese and see if he progresses.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑11 Dec 2025 07:52 amTime is time. Re: Winter meetings over...how do you grade Bloom
Naa. Since when are the Winter meetings in November? And both were FA signings not trades. Are you snarky all the time or do you reserve your hatred for this board? I've yet to see you post a positive comment.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 20:55 pmCards were active the last few winter meetings...Sonny Gray was signed late November. WillyCon in December

Re: Winter meetings over...how do you grade Bloom
That was precisely what I was saying. The winter meetings represent the initiation of trade discussions. Rarely do they happen anymore. The two guys jones mentioned were free agents not trades.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 21:00 pmThe difference is Mo would pack it in and be done afterward I’ll bet bloom makes several more moves before spring training but you know that too you’re just being an idiot and trolling because you’re crying because your precious mo is is gone. Poor Scouty going to be crying and whining a long time over mo leavingscoutyjones2 wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025 20:55 pmCards were active the last few winter meetings...Sonny Gray was signed late November. Re: Winter meetings over...how do you grade Bloom
Yes, it's like asking a HS Algebra math teacher to have a student in his class for one day of class in September and then being told to give the kid a grade based on his 50 min. of class work that day .
I love it too !
