Of course the Blues had sway.
Anyone believing otherwise is an idiot.

Fanduel also produces the L.A. Kings broadcast. JK was promoted to the second largest market in the US. I'm sure he got a salary increase. I believe this move was initiated by Fanduel. They wanted John in L.A. Turns out he is very happy there.

John Kelly is even way more better than Kerbs for radio. Kerbs and Vitale gab too much and don’t even identify where the puck is half of the time. It’s tolerable (barely) on TV where you can see the play, but totally unacceptable for radio.

Kerbs / Vitale are not the best announcers.
They are also not the worst.
JK is way better than Kerbs (for TV)

Going to take a while, if ever, to get used to Kerber and Vitale.
Re: John Kelly LA
Most people listen on the radio broadcasts are doing other things. I don't need a picture painted, I don't need dulcet tones. Increase in volume and cadence means it's something to pay attention to. I'm at work, working. Sometimes I can sit and actively listen and they're fine. Sometimes the volume is so low I can't hear details. It's a radio broadcast. This is one of those things I think is generational. OG fans didn't have televised games in the 60's. You HAD to follow on the radio and you had the best guy in the world to describe to you EXACTLY what was going on. Then add in Picard with his humor, it was peak perfection. It's what is expected of a Blues broadcast from those who grew up on it. Radio listeners now don't care. Younger audiences care even less. I like a funny story now and then especially if action is at a lull. The thing I LOVE about Kerbs and Joey is the replay. When something happens, they tend to break it down well. That's what I need.
Sorry this sucks for the rest of you.
Now, let me vent about these HORRIBLE sweaters. yuck.
