Lotta smoke around the M's for sure
Donny + Burleson + JoJo

Get er' done Bloom!
I don't see them needing Burly.
Their outfield is pretty fairly solid, and they've got Naylor at first.
But Seattle is also a pretty legit contender. I have no idea how their bullpen is shaking out, but an arm like Jojo could be really useful in shortening a play-off game. Maybe that could sweeten up a deal? Maybe that could grab us one of Hancock, Miller, or...dare I say...Kirby?
If they didn't want him as a DH/OF'er/Backup 1st baseman, then they could easily flip him.
I think you'd have to include a solid piece like Burly to make that deal.
Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports that Seattle plans to add two relievers and hopes to have one locked down by the end of the Winter Meetings next week. Adding a lefty is a priority.....

Okay now it's really getting interesting:

JoJo was among those listed!

Now I know that you won't read this but...
Seattle road their SP hard in 2025 to get where they got.
The rotation was taking on water by the end of that run. The team needs it's
SP to be inexpensive, or forget about a run. They are not very likely to deal
from that for 2.5 WAR player and a RP. Maybe a Gilbert who's older with less control
and a higher wage. IF they deal from the rotation or Castillo who doesn't fit.

What were durable workhorses for Seattle are now missing time here and there for elbows and shoulders. Yikes! Foreshadowing?

Yeah it the nature of pitching.
usually need a lot of the guys.
I'd be very surprised for them to deal from the MLB rotation.
Just buy back Polanco, if too expensive get Lowe.
There's a ceiling for Donovan, an ace or a #2 with 4 more
seasons of control seems high.

was just me having some fun and shooting for the moon.
I know.
Some of these returns for a very good player
in Donovan are moon shots and beyond.
I agree with this...and I'm probably the biggest perpetrator, as I started this thread. But, some people here are pretending we're trading Juan Soto with two years remaining

Yea some people think Donovan is valuable enough to be traded for top 3 prospects in all of baseball and the cardinals trade a utility player and and a catching prospect for tatis jr lol

All good.
It's hot stove and fans, Rock is unquestionably among the biggest fans.
IF it is a straight up Donovan trade, matching a similar return to what Gray brought
back seems closer. It's why I am starting to think a position player as the target
might have higher upside, or adding to the deal, Jo Jo or a C.
I also read where they are interested in Romero, as well as Donovan. There just seems to be a lot the Cardinals have that they want. Question is how badly?
The Cardinals could add one or more minor leaguers to the deal to get the player(s) they want. Sloan has a lot of upside, as well as a few others, but no body real close to the bigs. Seems like there could be match here, if Seattle bends a little.

Let it build, it could be interesting.
Sloan seems like he could be a prize, might be obtainable. They brought up 2024's #1 this past season
he's kind of a Donovan of 5 years ago better runner, better arm. Cole Young.
Another poster here mentioned him; I had missed him.
Maybe he and Sloan for our 2.

I'd prefer Emerson also a moon shot.
Emerson is an untouchable after this past year where his defense at SS improved. Woo is their most valuable pitcher so he is not being moved. They are trying to extend Gilbert who has expressed an interest in a new contract. Mariners need another left hand reliever and will get one next week. Odds are Romero could be that one as he is reliable and won’t cost too much.
I would be not be surprised if there is a deal involving both Donovan and Romero but if just one is dealt to Mariners odds are it is Romero.
Mariners also interested in Marte and are willing to give up multiple top prospects for him. My guess is they will make a big bid for Marte. He fits their need for a big bat who can play second base and hits right handed.
