that 32nd pick could move up, yes?
I think they are locked in at 32. It would have been 36 but 4 teams did get moved 10 spots down below the Cards.

Mets will move down 10 spots from 17 to 27 assuming they don't win the lottery... or 18 to 28 if the Astros win the lottery
Yankees will move down 10 spots from 25 to 35.
Phillies will move down 10 spots from 26 to 36.
Blue Jays will move down 10 spots from 29 to 39.
Dodgers will move down 10 spots from 30 to 40.

So 4 teams moved out of the top 30. The Mets move down 10 but stay in top 30.
Braves get PPI pick at 26
Astros get PPI pick at 28
Guardians get 1st Competitive Balance A pick at 29
Royals get 2nd Competitive Balance A pick at 30
D-Backs get 3rd Competitive Balance A pick at 31
Cardinals get 4th Competitive Balance A pick at 32

Year Player Team
2024 Griff O’Ferrall Baltimore Orioles
2023 Colin Houck New York Mets
2022 Sal Stewart Cincinnati Reds
2021 Ty Madden Detroit Tigers
2020 Nick Loftin Kansas City Royals
2019 Korey Lee Houston Astros
2018 Nick Schnell Tampa Bay Rays
2017 Jeter Downs Cincinnati Reds
2016 Will Smith Los Angeles Dodgers
2015 Ke’Bryan Hayes Pittsburgh Pirates
I just was looking at Jose Berrios' stat page, and it says he was a 32nd pick in the 2012 draft, so, there's another decent name acquired in that slot.
I can top that one:

A. Judge drafted w/the 32nd pick by the Yankees in 2013 (he was also drafted out of H.S. w/the 31st pick by the A's in 2010).

Nice, no reason Bloom can't find another Judge at 32. Realistically, just a player that contributes at the MLB level is all I hope for. Anything else is gravy!

Amen developing players that contribute just a little bit instead of being complete disasters would be a big step in the right direction
