Hopefully, he is asking for Andy Pages.

Starting pitching, relief pitching, and RH OFers. I suspect that the infield is low on the priority list, unless a top IF prospect falls in Bloom's lap.

Hopefully, he is asking for Andy Pages.
That would be a very good target.

Hopefully he is asking for the moon, and will not accept much less.
If he asks too much….potential deals fall through and the club gets nothing
and next year his value is even less…
His trade value will never be higher…..it would be nice to get more than a missed opportunity..
Have you ever heard the song- The Zoo -Scorpions.
Of course I have.
"We eat the night, we drink the time
Make our dreams come true
And hungry eyes are passing by
On streets we call the zoo"
but I don't quite get the connection for Donovan's asking price

Probably checking to see what assets he can get for Contreras/Noot/Gorman etc first. No rush to move Donovan.
Bloom isn't saying so, but I think hes in more of a rush than many think. The Cards are 2 years away from having a respectable team. Donnie's value is not going to go up any more than what it is now. Bloom wants key prospects in return. He's not getting them with Gorman, NA, or Willy. Donnie' value may be peak right now. A down year, or injury during the season changes all that.
Mo was always guilty of trying to trade players a year too late. Bloom cant risk the same fate.
With that said, I dont think he'll let anyone rob him. Bloom is in a hurry, but doesn't mean he'll give him away. If Donnie isn't traded, its because Bloom didn't get the haul he needed.

It is exactly the type of target Bloom should have in mind.
Assembling prospects is fine.
But the higher priority should be acquiring a RH outfield bat and a starting pitcher - each of whom has demonstrated some level of success at the MLB level and each with 3 or more years of control.
Betting the future on nothing more than prospects based on "rankings" which are historically wildly unreliable would be a fool's' errand.

Isn’t this what Matt Mitch has been preaching- get the highest level performer with control.

It is what I have been advising for several years now.
That, and maintain a 170M+ payroll.
Not hard.
As I have said many times - I could fix this organization in less than 30 days.
Any competent leader could.
