When it was just pectoral and back spasms, I had faith he'd overcome that...but the Shoulder problem, meh....I don't want to give up on the guy, but darn...that's a prelude to whole new basket of future issues.

I cringe duce when I hear a pitcher has shoulder problems.

Elbows are usually easily overcome, shoulders...........that's another story and it usually ends poorly.

Elbows are usually easily overcome, shoulders...........that's another story and it usually ends poorly.

From what I can tell, his arm angle was causing the pec and back problems. They changed his arm angle this year and I bet it took a toll on his shoulder to get used to the new angle. As long as it's not shoulder surgery we should be OK. Tink might be a BP piece in the long run but I'd give him a full year with the new mechanics before I give up on him as a starter.

It's a shame Mo and his people didn't make the switch to the pen' and the closers role a couple years ago.

Could've kept him healthy and he'd be ready by now to replace R. Helsley as closer.

I hope you're right about the shoulder but as I stated, shoulder issues scare the c r a p out of me when it comes to pitchers.

Tink doesnt have the build to be a big league starter. Scrawny as I'll get out. Doesn't have the stamina in the physique to give you the # of innings required to be a big league starter. I'd try him in a closers role (Memphis) and hopefully he can find a nice role. If not, trade him.

He's taller, heavier and more muscular than Pedro Martinez at that age. Pedro was listed as 5'11" and 135 lbs in low minors and they made him get up to 150 lbs at his. Pedro is shorter than 5'11". Tink is shorter than his listed 6'1", 195 lbs. Just sayin'

Yeah he has had the Pedro comparison before, much like Carlos Martinez did. Pedro was one of the greatest P's of all time. Different era than now. (One could easily question what Pedro was doing to stay strong, but that's a different conversation.) Here's to hoping he has 1/2 the career Pedro had!!

I've seen Tink on the back fields at Spring Training and he's not as scrawny as he may appear. Muscular and sinewy. His problems have been a recurring right rib cage strain/lat and then the "undisclosed" injury late last year -- which we all fear was shoulder.
As it was last year and the one before, this is "really" his year to show he can pitch without injury. His talent is undeniable.
