Alec Burleson Wins Silver Slugger
WHY?

Due to his lower output against left-handed pitching, Burleson is typically deployed as a strong-side platoon hitter, meaning he starts primarily against righties.

Agreed! He's a keeper and plays multiple positions...what's not to like!
“Plays” multiple positions

Beat me to it scouty

-13 DRS (OF/1B)/-22 OAA (OF/1B) in his career

Just saw Bernie listed him as a potential trade candidate this offseason, not going to make shadymaple or granny cranny happy.

Evidently MLB created a new participation award.

Maybe they can create an award for the most time a rookie put their jock on correctly. MLB is confused why they are losing fans.

You use all those subjective stats you want but the man can hit. We may also trade Contreras.
Bernie lol

Hey good for Burleson!
After tailing off the 2nd half of 2024 he put together a much more complete season.
It remains to be seen if he will emerge as a “core” player or more of a situational/platoon guy.
LOL... the guy catches too much grief on CT.
Compared to Gorman he’s Juan Soto!

No one. Utility Silver Slugger has been an award for the merely above average. Burleson had a good season at the plate but was in no way award worthy. Nighthawk listed a couple other dubious honorees. I'd prefer MLB abolish the award.

He had a better OAA in 2025 than a guy some want to put in LF
and the better arm.
He's not ideal, but we can be consistent.

And yeah leave it to Bernie a little disingenuous and find a sample size of STATS that may show a player improved
so he can keep his agenda.
