Him tackling the guy last night. He looks so scrambly and behind the play. We have to give him some time to recover from injury but this is a major factor that's going on. Consider the counterfactual, if he had come out of the gate like last year, this is not a 3-6-1 team. IMO there are at least two more wins even with the goaltending nightmare we currently have.
Coming back from a brutal injury and starting the season on a line with an older and more mediocre 3C (Schenner could be an awesome 3rd line Winger, though) and a hare-brained spoiled savant with the compete level of a gerbil... did him no favors.

Re: Holloway
Maybe if Holloway has an off year it saves the Blues millions on his next contract and they end up with a better team next season with the money they save.

Re: Holloway
I don’t think so. I think the horrific injury and the fact that he had to watch his number one line mate play like an ice dancer made of porcelain in the fricken Stanley Cuo Playoffs as he lay chomping at the bit from a hospital bed… did a huge number on his head.
Holloway found his game in the Playoffs with the Oilers in 2024. He was a force, but it did come in fits and starts.
Last year at the beginning, he was lost in the shuffle of prospects with “Great Expectations” and didn’t find his slot on the second line until they cut Brandon Saad, and Texier fluffed his chance at it.
He turned 24 six weeks ago.

You are welcome.
That …freak is capable of scoring a ton of goals and being a perennial all-star… if he used his speed and played with the least bit of guts. He had 2 assists in 28 playoff games. You know why that is? It’s because people really hit you harder and more often in the playoffs. One of the two assists was at even strength, the other was when his team had a man advantage. His even strength assist to PP assist ratio is low in the regular season for that very reason.
Every game this year, when he gets a pass on the rush and does not have a definite idea of what to do- or fears getting checked hard… the puck goes somewhere silly and ineffectual.
I am done with him and will call him out until he finds Jesus or gets traded.

Dude is playing so poorly that nobody calls him Hollywood anymore...
Re: Holloway
So poorly in the last 6 games he has 5 points, 16 hits, 6 blocks and 15 shots on goal. He's slowly finding his game/groove, he's the last of our issues long term.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑03 Nov 2025 07:44 am Dude is playing so poorly that nobody calls him Hollywood anymore...
He also has an even +/- (0 +/-) during those 6 games.
During that time frame,
Kyrou -6
Buch -8
Schenn -10

He is getting his groove back after the heartbreak of seeing his team blow an epic upset in most tragic manner, as he recovered from a really nasty injury.
He is also not not skating with a soul-killer, or a warrrior who has seen better days.
He will be himself again soon. He may even get welll enough to inspire Kyrou into growing a tiny set of gonads like he did last year. If that happens… he will get a letter someday soon.
Re: Holloway
You really need to get over this playoff thing. The Blues lost the game over 16 minutes into 2OT. Remember the Dallas Stars in 2019? Like that.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑03 Nov 2025 08:16 amExactly.Ace07 wrote: ↑03 Nov 2025 08:07 amSo poorly in the last 6 games he has 5 points, 16 hits, 6 blocks and 15 shots on goal. You really need to value playoff heart as being worth more in the second season than an ice dancer with low IQ and the compete level of one of the more timid rodents as being a go-to guy in the second season. That never gets you far... The opponents in the NHL will eat that guy alive, and they have been doing so for years. When the tough get going, Kyrou backs down.DawgDad wrote: ↑03 Nov 2025 08:29 amYou really need to get over this playoff thing. The Blues lost the game over 16 minutes into 2OT. Have you sat on a hockey bench while giving all you have in a playoff series as you watch a "Franchise Player" comport himself like he is playing only for highlight reels and a long career where he doesn't ache in the morning when he retires?
Unless he regrows that tiny set he found with Holloway, he is of little use to a playoff team with the faintest dream of going deep.

I remember a soft little PP specialist who didn't blossom in the playoffs until his late 20's. Wound up with a Smythe Trophy. Yvan Cournoyer.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑03 Nov 2025 09:20 amYou really need to value playoff heart as being worth more in the second season than an ice dancer with low IQ and the compete level of one of the more timid rodents as being a go-to guy in the second season. That may be an extreme case but Kyrou can create offense, and his best days might lie ahead.
