Your earlier derision
What I'm derisive about is your ignorance of park effects and your conviction that Cardinal Hernandez would hit like Dodger Hernandez, who btw just logged a whopping 0.6 fWAR/1.5 bWAR season. Tell me you wouldn't be howling if he produced at that level in StL. Those are Ozuna numbers.

I agree he was much better in year 1 in LA, and I guess he could repeat that season in 2026, and yes he's shined in the playoffs. But he's a complementary player on an elite team who's on the back side of 30. I don't call that a pressing need for a middling team even if he could somehow dupe his LA numbers.

Wow, you're back for more. I wasn't going to post this and let it drop, but since you insist, 31 of Hernandez's 33 HRs in 2024 would have been HRs in any ballpark, according to Statcast data. Just like that bomb he hit last night in Milwaukee.

And I would have taken 25 or so HRs and 89 or so RBIs any day on this team this year. You know, or should know, that fWAR is heavily influenced by defense. His kind of bat is what is needed on this team. That .454 SLG and .207 ISO would have been nice. And his 3.4 fWAR and .501 SLG would have been nice in '24.

I'm not saying he would have signed here. I'm just saying I wish he had. His bat would have been better than Noot's and Walker's combined.

Run along with Scouty now. You two make a great match.

Scouty has his moments. You're just tiresome.

You don't think home parks influence hitting and you strain to praise a 2-win player who caught your eye.

Here's one last stat for you to ignore and then I'm done with you.

TH,home last two years, 36 HR, 525 AB
TH,road last two years, 22 HR, 575 AB

So Hernandez is almost 60 percent more likely to pop one at home. All his HRs may be easy calls but outside of LA there haven't been so many of them.
