oh yea, he yelled at people all year long, actually 3 and a half years, yelling just like coach K lol, but no one new about it until 36 hours before Mo fired him after just finding out about it. It was kept silent all those years...lol
Billy Martin anyone lol

"There were certainly reasons why we had to make that decision. I don't think the public forum is the right place for it. I do feel like I get beaten up for it. Legally, I was advised that as an employer, there is only so much that can be said. I don't want to beat around the bush. I know we had to make a decision. I believe it was the right decision. People can argue that they don't think it was. However, I'm sure that someday more of this will come to light. I'm sure some of the people who worked with me or under him might have some things to say as well. But to me, it's what has happened, happened," Mozeliak said.
Perhaps it was the DUI’s and multiple alcohol related incidents(wait that was another manager)

TLR asleep at the wheel at a stoplight.

And asleep at the wheel in the dugout during the 2011 WS, and they still won!
That having been said, though I disagreed with some of TLR's moves, including batting the pitcher 8th, I loved his businesslike approach in the dugout during games. He always had his game face on, and so did his players. Pujols, Edmonds, Rolen, Molina, Carpenter were all business during games. Tony got criticized for winding his players too tight. I'd rather have that than Club Marmol, where anything goes in the dugout and on the field during games. No wonder players apparently like him.

I swear I heard Bernie say a few years back that shildt was screaming and demeaning people. Mo did say something in that interview that it was advised by legal to keep a lid on it.
So why did MO mention anything about it on his way out? If Shildt was screaming or demeaning, MO was probably the target.

Imagine the inspiration of looking into the dugout and seeing Elmer Fudd.
Angry, at that.

Yep, referred to him as the character Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys. Made fun of his 'skinny' arms etc
The usual juvenile stuff
And used to make fun of him when he got kicked out of games because they thought he was acting like a fake tough guy when, because he wore glasses and never even played baseball beyond college, he was a big nerd in their eyes and no one respected him. And they thought he embarrassed the organization when Randy Arozarena got him on video after the NLDS cussing and again acting like a fake tough guy in their eyes.

Shildt was fired bc he believes in his heart and mind not always a spreadsheet.
He has a different approach to hitting, which has been highlighted in numerous articles.
The reason has been released many times over through the years.
Mo went out in the low character fashion he is as a man. Saying things like the city isn’t safe and that’s why the fans aren’t there is a joke. Same w the vague hint on Shildt.
I think Schildt was complicit in his firing. But I agree
there was no reason for Mo to bring it up. The comment on the city wasn't necessary either. Just another example of the escalation of his cavalier personality the last several years.
agree
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SO SO GLAD HE'S GONE
Sounds like Mo is just dying to write a tell all……and perhaps he aint too happy about leaving….

Honestly, I thought that at first, but that would be public record and someone would've already reported on it. I was thinking workplace harassment (threatening physical harm, etc) or inappropriate relationship with coworker.

Completely agree, I was alluding to if they like you and want to keep you the owner will overlook just about anything…
And this nonsense that the players “really like” Oli…..as some sort of reason to keep him is ridiculous

Yeah, I managed people, and I couldn't have cared less whether they liked me. But I knew I had their respect when, during evaluations, I'd dole out praise and criticism based on detailed documentation that I kept on each employee. They expressed appreciation for that, but doing it requires being meticulous, active and frank. I think Oli would rather be liked based on the Little League stuff that happens on his watch.

I wonder if Shildt had a meltdown on Mo in private? Maybe he took a dump on Johnny's desk and wiped with his bow ties.

Ironically Albert left after the next year

He does have some string bean arms. And the look on his face was hilarious when he got (upset). It was pretty funny watching him get ejected. He looked like Barney Fife when he argued.

I understand the keeping the players loose aspect, because its a long season. But I get sick to my stomach when I see players laughing and joking around when they are losing. I want the manager to set the tone for culture. Losing should not be fun.
