causes me to suspect he is staying. The fact that he is staying causes me to suspect this is going to be a complete dump and when Boom thinks the team is capable of winning he will bring in his own manager.
Either that or Bloom doesn't know anybody who could do a better job.
Mozeliak is under contract through October 31.
Marmol can be canned after that.
And I think he will be.
Owner can fire whoever he wants. Perhaps the guy they want is in the playoffs.

I think he gets reassigned to a different role
You can't go from manager to a different role. either you stay as manager or you leave the organization. It doesn't happen. His position no matter what it is would have him appear weak
It just happened today with Bochy!

The more I think about it, the length of the extension doesn't really make sense. Wouldn't BDW want a new manager in place before a possible work stoppage? Coming into a chaotic ST with a new manager doesn't seem like a great plan. I would rather have a new manager with a year under his belt before the stoppage. That way his system is already in place.
Then again, maybe Oli is their long-term guy and another extension is coming.

Melville has already been fired from SF.
If Bloom was going to move at manager, you'd think he'd move fast and hire the guy he wants.
80% sure he's not firing Marmol.
It’s never about Melville.

Easy
Obvious
Correct

sorry. Melvin

Dewitt and Mo are 1000x more the problem than any manager the past several years. The manager doesn't really matter at all when your team is cheap and incompetent at the leadership level.

Coaches matter a lot if you are trying to develop young players into winners. Which is supposed to be the plan, correct?

Correct, and that has nothing to do with what I said.

Or maybe DeWitt told him he had to keep him for next yesr. That he isn't going to pay for 2 managers.
Managers don't cost that much. If BDW is being that cheap then Bloom should resign today and find a new organization that will let him win.
I think what Karraker said on his podcast sums it up best. You already have Oli being paid for 2026. If you fire him you have to pay for him in 2026 and a new manager who will probably command more money than Oli is making (curious they never show his salary). Then there will be a lockout almost for certain in 2027 and DeWitt knows this. So you will have to pay for Oli and a new manager in 2026 and the new manager will have to be paid in 2027 when there is no baseball.

And now it has happened with Snitker in Atlanta, two managers that were let go and yet were offered other posiitons in the club. For something that doesn't happen it sure happened a lot in the past 2 days.

Or maybe all the baseball people in the organization who do this for a living, in some case for many years, players included, feel like it’s worth keeping him around for at least another year. And the brand new POBO and his people seem to agree.
I know, I know, this forum has a ton of collective baseball knowledge. Maybe try flying a banner over the spring training fields next year.
