Boyer was my favorite all time Cardinal. Loved Rolen too. Arenado has been a great fielder, bat has faded with age. He seems resigned to being a goner as Rooney would say.
Ditto, Mid-Mo. Boyer was my favorite for years. The grand slam in the ‘64 WS to win the game 4-3 was just about more than my then 12 year old heart could bear. I also loved Rolen. For me, Arenado is a very distant 3rd out of those 3.
I just turned sixteen about the last game of the 64 series. I was so happy they beat the Yankees I don't think my feet touched the ground for a month. Rolen had a gun for an arm, believe he could have been a good pitcher. I always thought Arenado had a little Jim Edmonds hot dog on some of his fielding plays, but a little extra mustard can be tolerated at times!
I just loved Kenny. By far the favorite of mine. He hit 24 HRs 4 years in a row! He could do it all, except run.
He kind of trained off season with cigarettes and beer. That lung cancer was the result.

What a stupid comment. You have no idea of his lifestyle. What are you about 35 years old?

No, but you make plenty of stupid comments. i know he ran a bar in Hermann in the off season. I know from persons who played with him against him and some who were raised in the same household. Don't tell he what I don't know. Clown.

Good morning.
I saw a stat in another thread, Rolen’s time here, vetse Arenados. Quite similar offensively.
So I ask- between Boyer Rolen and Nado, is there a clear leader.
Enjoy.
Rolen.
Next question.

Boyer wins in batting average and hits. Rolen wins on homeruns and war. Very close stats.
Are you considering performance relative to the number of years each was a starter at the position?
If measured by that, it might be wise to include Torre.
He was the starting 3b for just one full season during his journey from catcher to 1B.
His defense was not great, but he did hit .363/.421/.555/.976 with an incredible 230 hits, 34 doubles, 8 triples (!), 24 HR, 97 runs, and 137 RBI in that MVP season.

Kenny was actually fairly fast. Fast enough to play CF early on. He just didn't look fast because he was smooth, the glided rather than looked like he was working at it.

I mentioned that above. I am not aware of any single season by a card third baseman that is better. At least offensively.

My apology - I did not see your post.
Kudos for being first to point to Torre's unbelievable year.

Rolen by a mile. Arenado didn’t offer any offense unfortunately.
