Because it will be OBVIOUS that BDWJr made the call since he see's 2026 as another throw-away season and isn't going to pay Oli to sit at home.
I agree, but the correct thing for DeWitt to do is pay Oli his salary to work a lesser job in the minors, and let Bloom hire a new manager of his own choice.

100%

I've been saying the same for many months.
Yes, me too, but the FO has telegraphed through story leaks that Oli will be back. We shall see. His salary is peanuts. Even with tightwad ownership, I cannot believe that salary is the issue that would keep Marmol as manager. MO will be gone. None of us know Bloom's opinion of Oli. We speculate, but none of us know. We will have the answer shortly after the WS most likely. I doubt there is an announcement either way right after the end of the regular season. But, I don't know squat:) I just have my opinion that Oli should have been gone a long time ago and some good manager and pitching coach hired who can tighten up fundamental play on this team, and have a much better in game and day to day feel about how to use the players we have most effectively. ... and my opinion is worth squat to Bloom and ownership:)
Sadly they have. :x

I think we get Bloom's guy for the 2027 season!

I agree that Oli should be fired on October 2 this year for the reasons you stated, plus the message it would send to players and fans that Low IQ Baseball will not be tolerated any more.

I also agree with you that it might not happen.

Their lame thinking is that 2026 will be another bust, so why burden a fresh new manager with that albatross of a team. But to me that would be a mistake. I’d prefer a manager who sets a positive winning attitude with an emphasis on sound fundamental baseball. Even if it’s not immediately effective in the win column, you need to turn this Titanic around sooner, not later. Marmol is NOT the guy to do it.

What are your thoughts ?
CT does not depict/represent the Cardinals fan base.

Thank God
The acres of empty red seats at Busch Stadium would seem to refute your hypothesis. Get a clue, moran.
They are unhappy with the product and using their staying away to show it, but I doubt most hate Oli like CT does...reasonable people recognize the lack of talent on the roster he's been given.

They :? note how he won the NL Central when he had talent...that's the comment. The CT hatred for Oli

The way I could see it happening is they retain Oli because all signs are pointing to a strike in 2027 and they just don't see a point in bringing in a new manager to manager one season then potentially lose an entire season.

Have Oli here, work out his contract, lose the 2027 season to the strike, then hire the new guy for the 2028 season.

We can do better than Oli, but he's not the reason why we're in this spot.

That falls squarely on Mo and Dewitt. The 2023 rotation was banking HARD on Jack Flaherty being an ace after a pretty bad shoulder injury. And it had next to no talent in the bullpen. None of that is Oli's fault.

The 2024 team did okay, but it only threw numbers at the pitching problem. Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson were either hasbeens, or neverweres. Sonny Gray was the only long term pitcher brought in. It was also desperately needing a new cornerstone bat after the FAST decline of Arenado and Goldschmidt at the end of '23. What was brought in in the offseason to help? Phil Maton, middle reliever.

It's been pretty well theorized that the real reason why Shildt was fired was because he had the nerve to ask for better ballplayers to get the team over the hump.

Again, I'm not gonna call him a masterful manager, but he's also been given mostly bupkis for the past three seasons.

Like a turd in a punchbowl.
Or like the Baby Ruth candy bar in the bottom of the pool in Caddyshack
I'll never purchase tickets again as long as Marmol is here. But if I receive free tickets again, I'll point and yell "doody - doody!" at him as loud as I can. He might cry to the media though.
