The players clearly bear the brunt of the responsibility.
But...you can’t ignore that there are issues with decision making and that team fundamentals are below average.
I consider Marmol below average. Worth looking at along with players.
Manager vs coach...learn the difference. I'm sure you blame him because of his challenge calls because you think he watches the videos before telling the ump
I apologize!
I didn’t realize this was no longer an “opinion” forum?

you realize I am not preventing you from posting your drivel. But remember, if it's posted, it is open season.
I knew you couldn't accept what a coach does (hint...they have these things called dictionaries) vs what a manger does. It's almost like it's right there in front of you, but beyond your ability. I blame Oli for you

what was Marmol's batting average and pitching ERA over that bad section. Oh, sorry, I forgot he was not on the field and that it was the players who failed to perform. This has been beat to death. Managers with good players win, managers with bad players lose.
Also bad managers lose.
all managers lose

The team was in control of a playoff spot on July 1 - and has faded badly ever since.
They were in the exact same spot on July 1 last year - with the same result.
Both seasons they were leap-frogged by multiple teams who were not any more talented than STL.
Huge indictment of The Marmot.
The record tells the tale.

Besides....I’m insulted and it hurts!
1) I apologized.
2) I complimented you for your mastery of the English language.
3) I’ve advised you in the past to buy some Fleet products as you clearly need them!
4) I continue to pull for you to some day actually engage in an actual “civil” and “meaningful” discussion with another poster.
Now say something colorful as usual.

I think that is a thoughtful observation..
This organization is dysfunctional…..from top to bottom…..it’s going to take a lot more effort than firing a marginal field manager
Well the effort will get off to a great start once the idiot-in-
charge rides off into the sunset Oct. 31.
Only then can the healing begin.

Marmol is the master at winning meaningless games - and is a complete disaster at winning games when it matters. Even when he has a huge initial advantage and the competition is doing their very best to make it easy for him. There are many, many reasons to fire The Marmot - but none more obvious than the numbers above. He is a lightweight not up to the job when it matters.
I'm not a fan of Marmol but the front office quit on the team on July 31. I'd like to see a manager who played the game at MLB level and has a winning record in MLB. Preferably a former catcher as they tend to make good managers.

Is the bow tied idiot actually leaving? First he was going to start turning over responsibilities to Bloom after the All Star break. Then after the trade deadline. Then after the season ended. Now it's October 31st? What is the purpose of that jackass staying on for a month after the season ends? Just get the heck out already, you putz.

Agree.
Marmol is whatever each of us see him as.
Separating data of any manager in any single season and then suggesting that there is
some valid point in it seems a foolish POV.
Maybe Oli had them overachieving until July 1, an equally foolish take but more plausible
since most here called .500 a high-water mark before the season in your poll.
No, Marmol is worthless. That is not a foolish POV. That is an obvious fact.

I understand the wish to see MO out and Bloom in.
One point I would make about the date of October 31st.
While it is true that the Cards season will be over October 1st, the MLB offseason really doesn’t start until after the WS or November 1st roughly.
That means no trades or FA signings.
So MO technically being around means pretty much nothing.
Excited for Bloom and a new direction!

I get that. But the month of October should be set aside for fumigating and disinfecting anything related to Johnny bow ties in Busch Stadium.

I don't care for him. I find him pompous. I don't find him as being a manager with good feel for
his players while finally improving to average in his decisions. My POV. Can he further improve?
Maybe but his boss has to hold him accountable to his boss's standards. You let your POV be known.
It was NOT called foolish by me.
To take any random stretch of games, of any manager including some HOF managers,
and saying that information proves some point is incomplete work. In the above
example, can't a person say "Oli is very good. In the first 87 games, he has a
.500 team playing 7 over"?

His contract expires on 10-31 I believe.
Mozeliak clearing out his office will be the best Halloween present any Cardinal fan could hope for.
BTW I never read anyplace except on CT that Mozeliak was turning over duties after the break or the trade deadline. Unless someone shows a link I doubt he ever said that.

I thought MO said that he was working with Bloom through the time after the break and through the deadline.
The rationale was it'd be the team that Bloom inherited. Sounds fair.
I think the eagerness to see MO leave made the jump to turning over the duties.
