Re: Prospect Showcase
I don't trust Vegas' scouting staff, they don't seem very thorough. That's why I don't get excited about Dean.

I don't get excited over many 30th overalls until I see them play.
How much have you actually seen of Dean?
I ask because your "meek" label is from way out in left field, compared to what myself, and a few others have noticed.

Oh yeah, he should be running roughshod over all the youngins in this tournament. Kind of like Bolduc did last year.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑05 Sep 2025 16:41 pmI can't wait to see him make his play next weekend.Mr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑05 Sep 2025 16:22 pmI just said "a little on the meek side" not totally meek, like Kyrou meek.Harry York 37 wrote: ↑03 Sep 2025 20:04 pmMr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑03 Sep 2025 19:18 pm I don't trust Vegas' scouting staff, they don't seem very thorough. I hope the Blues have a couple goons penciled in the lineup.

Re: Prospect Showcase
Thanks for posting. Pretty much who I expected them to send given who will be playing in college/Europe this season.
Was wondering if they were going to send Commesso but I’d guess he was considered too experienced with 2 AHL seasons under his belt already. The Russian Berezhnoy sounds interesting though.
Based just on rosters, I’d say the Blues have the best overall roster but the Hawks look good too with Rinzel and Levshunov. The Wild with 2 high profile prospects too in Buium and Yurov. You just never know how things will shake out, especially with rosters full of such raw players. Should be a good mini-tournament this weekend.

And they don’t from what I see. That said, I don’t know a ton about Sam Stange and Anthony Kehrer. Both played at U of Wisconsin last season but given their size and PIMs, I doubt either is a bruiser. Kehrer has already been signed to an AHL deal by the T-birds. Stange is just an invitee as of now.

Re: Prospect Showcase
AJ Spellacy is going to try to make a name for himself by delivering bone crunching body checks - he's a big boy that can skate but he's not dirty.
6'3" 205
And AJ Spellacy could have played NCAA football himself. A three-star free safety and wide receiver recruit, he once fielded a phone call from Nick Saban. But instead he left five Division I football scholarship offers on the table and the football team at Saint Ignatius High School (where he’d just finished a season as the lone sophomore on the varsity squad) to pursue another sport: hockey.

Because if they don't win in goals, at least they can win in fights.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑08 Sep 2025 10:39 amWhy?Mr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑07 Sep 2025 13:04 pm I hope the Blues have a couple goons penciled in the lineup.
Gotta have some kind of excitement.
