Pribula has a much better touch than Cook …. It’s not even debatable
Re: Early take... Cook/Pribula
I know it was against an FCS team but you can see the way he delivers the ball, on time and on target, that he's a better passer than Brady ever was. He did have some pressure to deal with and he handled it well. You can ding him for a minor underthrow on the first pass to Speedy and the over throw to speedy and the significant underthrow to Speedy but two of them were caught (and I attribute the under throw to the fact that he had just over thrown him a few plays earlier). The offense ran pretty smooth once the Oline got things figured out in the second quarter. Given today's relatively (bleep) performances by OU, 'Bama, and aTm, I'd say Mizzou is very much ahead of schedule.11WSChamps wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 18:15 pmCertainly looks that way after one game against a much inferior opponent.
Pribula seized the opportunity and looked like he has played in this offense all his life.
A lot of tests coming to see if the offense under Pribula will shine.
If they can protect him there's a good chance it will.

Oh yeah I mentioned during the game he made a read and boom the ball was out of his hand to the target.onemizzou wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 21:21 pmI know it was against an FCS team but you can see the way he delivers the ball, on time and on target, that he's a better passer than Brady ever was. He was decisive and looked right at home with the offense.
I think we can all agree he was more sought after as a recruit and has more given talent.
Cook's success was a result of many things. I don't believe raw talent would be at the top of the list.
My guess is Sam Horn may have had more physical gifts than Cook too. That position requires much more than just raw talent.

No doubt. His timing and accuracy, especially on the short to intermediate throws, appeared professional level. Cook's strengths were always leadership and toughness, but as a thrower he was limited and it probably caused Burden to fall to the 2nd round.
My takeaway from Game One of Beau Pribula is Drink finally found a complete quarterback. The first and second level throws he was making vs. Central Arkansas will most certainly translate to SEC action. They were on time and right on the money. Coupled with what is likely going to be an outstanding running game, I see Pribula as a quarterback who will consistently move the chains.
As for the pressure allowed by the OL ... Did Kirby Moore ever do a designed backside roll out with Beau ala Brock Purdy in the NFL? Hopefully Kirby's taken extensive notes in this area because it's tailor made for Pribula: pass/run option outside the tackle box in space.
I don't know what the plan was going to be to utilize Sam Horn, but I love that they had a plan for him. Bodes well for coaching.
Re: Early take... Cook/Pribula
MJ had to stutter-step to make the catch so it was a hair underthrown, but it was a great pass and far better than Cook's long-balls. I like how BP threw it so effortlessly.Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 16:03 pmThe first one wasn’t under thrown. It was on the money in stride.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑30 Aug 2025 11:33 amIt was underthrown. The WR had to come back and get it.
Pribula was really good at the short and intermediate throws though.
