Herrera should be part of rebuild. The kid can hit. It is just a matter where he will play next season. It would be great if he could catch. It could well open up a spot on the field to acquire some right handed power.

Herrera HAS to hit and hit with power, he has no real defensive position so he better get that bat right
He can't hit for power.
Never has.
Never will.
in 647 PA, he has an extremely weak 40 XBH's.
Ha ha ha. So … Gorman is a “unicorn” power hitter and Herrera is not. You’re a joke Melville.
Gorman — .372 slugging% (390 PAs). A pitiful .669 OPS.
Herrera - .462 slugging % (431 PAs) with .833 OPS
Herrera has a better HR/PA than the Unikkkorn - and the best on the team.
And he’s two years younger than Gorman.
How’s Carlson doing?
How’s Dakota Hudson doing, who you called the “team’s most irreplaceable player.”

100%
He's the best hitter on the team and the ONLY one that has 30 HR potential.
I'm NOT a fan of his catching ambitions.
BUT
Bloom now has player development system fully in place so I'm willing to take a "wait & see" position until I see a team steal five bases off him in STing.

From Bernie:
Over his last 132 games:
548 plate appearances and 473 at-bats, Herrera has a .296 average, a rich .382 on-base percentage, a .471 slug and an .853 OPS
.
Too bad we don't have three more like him.
