There has to be two additions to the rotation for 2026. And that's at the minimum. If this does not occur, expect 17,000 to be the norm.Clubmaker2 wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 19:35 pm So any chance this feces show pitching tonight encourages dewallet to have Bloom sign or trade for a decent pitcher.
I think as long as 3+M were coming thru the turnstiles BDWJr was happy and got lazy keeping Mo in place even though he was years past his expiration date.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 15:59 pmDo you think he just trusted Mo that much? Its really odd to keep granting more power to a guy that pitiful. Mo wanted to claim free agents didn't want to sign in StL. But Harper and Scherzer both had interest and Mo made no effort. Was it laziness and inability to attract talent or did BDW tell him he wasn't interested in paying up?rockondlouie wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 11:58 amWon't happen but Dewitt should give Bloom the same payroll he gave Mo ($175+M range) and see what he can do with it!JuanAgosto wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 11:51 amI agree that Bloom shouldn't have to earn BDW's trust. But the guy lost millions due to Mo's lazy and idiotic signings. BDW may be hesitant after that mess. Of course, he allowed it to continue.rockondlouie wrote: ↑26 Aug 2025 08:49 amOh yea JuanJuanAgosto wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025 19:36 pmI dont think DeWitt opens the wallet this winter. He will claim poverty status after fans didn't rush out to watch the [nonsense] he and Mo fielded this year.rockondlouie wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025 08:56 amThx for sharingramfandan wrote: ↑25 Aug 2025 05:24 am Today's Post Dispatch has an article about expectations of Chaim Bloom as Cardinals GM with Rays executive Erick Neasnder The two worked together at Tampa Bay .
Neander offered several thoughts on what Cardinals fans can expect.
“Character. Integrity. Passion for baseball. Knowledge of baseball? A-plus,” Neander listed. “Not just the present but like 1862 baseball. I think the world of him. ... There’s not going to be a lot of GM-speak. He’s going to want to communicate that vision. He understands and appreciates the importance of fans. You don’t open the curtain and disclose the world, but there’s an importance to communicating to fans what you’re doing, why you’re doing it and why (they should) be excited about it.
“I don’t think he’s too worried about concerning himself with looking smart or outsmarting (others). He’s concerned with winning. He looks plenty smart enough without trying.”
“He was keenly aware that the Rays needed to operate one way and that Boston was solving for something a little different,” Neander said. “As I’m going through the compliments for Chaim, ‘adaptable’ is absolutely one I would insert. You have to do the business one way here. You have to do your business another way in Boston. I’d have all the confidence in the world with him going to St. Louis without those experiences. But having those experiences can put him ahead.

Reading that line ... 'there won't be a lot of Gm-speak ...' certainly will be welcomed by Cardinal fans. With the previous POBO, it sure seemed like Mo was all about that and he came off as being smarter than the fans and did not find it important to communicate to the fans.

Very excited to see what Bloom can do, just hope BDWJr doesn't hamper him w/a low (under $160M) payroll.
But hopefully, Bloom earns his trust and old Bill realizes he won't squander $ like Mozeliak did.
He's already got his excuses lined up:
-he'll blame the fans for not showing to his, Mo & Oli's shildt show
-lockout coming in 2027 so why worry about the 2026 season![]()
And shouldn't have to "earn" Dewitt's trust since he's NOT MO who wasted hundreds of millions of payroll money!
And we're in 100% agreement, Dewitt is the one who allowed Mo to waste that much payroll since he (Dewitt) is in on every single move.
