OMG, and Hampson Mendoza, how can you even consider DFA'ing him?
Those DFAs are already factored in. It's the 8-12 prospects that need to be added for the rule V draft during the offseason.
We could end up exposing a guy like Blaze Jordan or Brycen Mautz for a 2025 season that is already over.

As soon we get past whenever that date is next week that's keep his 2026 rookie status, there's NO REASON whatsoever for the Cardinals not to bring up JJW!
News Flash BDWJr...........he will sell tickets to your empty stadium.
JJW would not sell many extra tickets! I bet if you asked 10 random fans at a Cardinals game who the Cardinals top prospect is - nine of those would not even know the Cardinals top prospect!

I'll take that bet,
And he'd definitely sell tickets.

From Bernie:
Bernie dives deep into the rise of St. Louis Cardinals top prospect JJ Wetherholt, explaining why he believes this isn’t another overhyped call-up like Jordan Walker or Nolan Gorman. From his elite plate discipline to his athleticism and maturity, Wetherholt has shown he’s MLB-ready now. Bernie compares him to J.D. Drew and Matt Carpenter, with even more upside. He debunks the 40-man roster excuse and says Wetherholt must be called up by September 1 to help reignite fan interest and kickstart the rebuild under Chaim Bloom.

Mo is a fri gg in idiot if keeps pushing that bull c r a p excuse.
Yeah. Cards need Winn or somebody to get injured, like the Scrubs, to call up JJ
Did you even recognize why he's called up?
I didn't know Cassie was a catcher.
Say's the moron who's been pining for JJ to be here for months.
Since the beginning of the season

0 for 4 with a strikeout in his debut.
Cubs lose 2-1 despite giving up only 3 hits.
Both starting pitchers went 7 innings and both only made 78 pitches. That’s pretty quick work. A rarity in today’s game.

I watched the last several innings.
6 of the last 9 Cub batters struck out

Sadly the Cubs are a better run organization than the Cards.
The Cubs tanked for 5 years.
2010-2014
Cards 451-359 .557
Cubs 346-464 .427 (The Cardinals have not had a single season this bad since .426 in 1978. You have to go back to .422 in 1924 to find another one.)
They did this to make it possible to be equal to the Cards for the next 10 years.
2015-2024
Cards 815-701 .538
Cubs 816-702 .538
Now the Cubs (and Cards) are getting dominated by the Brewers (since the Cards lost their way)

News Flash BDWJr...........he will sell tickets to your empty stadium.
The Cubs plan to recall outfielder Owen Caissie from Triple-A Iowa, a source confirmed Wednesday night, adding their top prospect to the active 26-man roster in the wake of catcher Miguel Amaya’s ankle injury.
Caissie, a native of Burlington, Ontario, could make his major-league debut in his home country Thursday, as the Cubs face the Blue Jays in a rubber match. Amaya is headed to the injured list with a sprained left ankle, manager Craig Counsell said after the Cubs’ 4-1 win Wednesday.
Caissie, 23, has posted a .966 OPS in Triple-A this season. The 6-foot-3 left-handed hitter leads the I-Cubs with 22 home runs this season, and he represented the Cubs in the All-Star Futures Game last month
https://chicago.suntimes.com/cubs/2025/ ... ains-ankle
Let’s see:
Owen Cassie: 953 PA in AAA
JJ Wetherholt: 104 PAs in AAA
Cassie has literately been there for 2 years and had an .848 OPS last year, not exactly bad. If he was in the Cardinals system people would have been screaming for Mo to be fired for letting him waste away in AAA.
The AAA only stat is odd. What about JJ's 678 PAs in a major college program vs. 0 PAs for Cassie (who is only 67 days older)?
I get the point, but is waiting another month or two before bringing him up going to make a great deal of difference?
And the 40-man excuse is weak.
