If you didn’t know Machado watching him at plate would make you scream. OMG you can ‘t stand like that ! Not one stance fits all batters. It’s where your body ends up as ball is coming over the plate. Watch Padres Manny Machado at the plate. His extreme open stance works for him.

Look at Herrera’s stance. Maybe it influenced Walker when they were on the same minor league team.

Exactly. What it proves is that one’s stance is simply about comfort, balance, relaxation getting ready to hit a baseball.
It has Nothing with your body position when the ball enters the hitting area. Your Herrera is also a great example.
I chuckle when I read comments from people who claim a players stance..too open , too closed, is detrimental to how they hit a baseball. It’s ridiculous.

PS I was avid amateur bowler and in my 30’s coached at a pro bowlers camp for top teen youth bowlers .
I remember the first time I saw 14 year old Pete Weber ,son of pro bowling great Dick Weber. Pete’s backswing would go far above his shoulders and head high in his arm swing. No bowling coach would ever teach that yet Pete Weber became arguably the top 3 bowlers of all-time. I learned watching him that you instruct to the individual not one way to all bowlers . Same with golf teachers.

It's also my squabble. If you disagree with Cranny, he threatens you in his strange way. He has some real problems about communication and getting along with others. He has been that way for years.
