I hope that you are right about the Blue trajectory. I don't see it. The Blues are a good team, but I see no path forward to being a great team. Our prospects are mostly only younger versions of average talent. Army is playing to not lose at the cash register, not dance with Stanley.Sophisticated Shoes wrote: ↑05 Aug 2025 02:06 amExcept the Blues are loaded with talent, youth, & prospects with minimum $32 mil in cap space next year, as they continue to ascend, Simple Jack. Free agents wanting to win a cup, makes the Blues an attractive destination, and this makes Army's job, one he can do, with one arm behind his back.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 18:29 pm With the Cap going up, there will be fewer free agents, fewer offer sheets, and less need to dump expensive veterans for at least a couple years. GMs will have to rely solely on the draft to improve their rosters.
Poor Army. His waterholes are drying up.
Chau!

It's another wing place that has a bunch of sauces to choose from. The quality of the chicken is top notch and the parmesean fries are awesome. I don't usually recommend chain restaurants but this place is clucking good!

Re: Army’s Well Is Drying Up
The catfishing has been very good up on Pool 19 this year. The guys at the local bar are getting fed well as my freezer is full and they get the spoils of overflow. This is my fav recipe for catfish/crappie/gills & the ?secret? is Everglades Seasoning. Stumbled on this down in Florida a decade or so ago & that has become my fav mix of spices to use. I used to "create" my own mix with individual spices and it got to be too laborious and inconsistent. My best fish recipe: Start with Canola oil (or peanut oil but its a bit more $). Soak the thawed or fresh fish in yer least expensive beer for 5 minutes, then drain (helps the coating stick, does not affect taste). Using a gallon ziplock, add 1 part flour to 3 parts yellow corn meal, bag half full. [the flour helps the cornmeal stick better, can go 4 parts to 1 part flour, personal pref]. Add the Everglades Seasoning to taste (more for a spicier mix, less for less---it really takes a lot to make it too much). Mix up ingredients in bag, then put the drained fish in the bag mix and shake, shake, shake! Take fillet outta bag, & dump em in the hot oil. I keep a Presto fry grandpappy (2L?) in garage so I can cook up a nice batch at a time. Take out when golden brown and enjoy!
Of course the local grocery store does not stock Everglades Seasoning [yers might?] so when I ran out of my Florida stash I found the company website and order it by the case (10 1lb bottles). That lasts me a couple years and I have never found any mix that is better, tho Andy's yellow or red (Hot) I would rate 2nd.

Interestingly, when I lived in Naperville IL for 6 years Peroni’s was right around the corner from our subdivision and our go-to place for a quick pizza!!Nublues69 wrote: ↑06 Aug 2025 07:24 amPirronis ?Hazelwood72 wrote: ↑05 Aug 2025 19:14 pmThe hell with all that cooking. I am going to make a chicken lasagne dish tomorrow. Quite excited about it. Think I will use some ricotta/feta/parm as the cheese.

With the CAP going up and up...
A) Offer sheets won't work.
B) Overpaying FAs won't work.
C) Trading away draft picks for good players won't work.
Teams will have plenty of funds to keep their better players.
GMs are going to completely live and die BY THE DRAFT.
It's absolutely no wonder why Army is retiring this year.

Some would actually say that DA is getting a promotion after this season. He's definitely not retiring.

Of course he is getting promoted. He makes the cash registers ring, and the fans in STL don't mind that the hockey stars are in everyone else's sky forever.b-a-a-a-rclay wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 12:20 pm Some would actually say that DA is getting a promotion after this season. Did you ever stop to think that with the cap going up, so will salaries? Of course you didn’t.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 12:06 pm With the CAP going up and up...

It may take a year or two to catch up but everything will basically be the same just guys will make more.

ASSOGG apparently never took economics. This is the econ corollary to Parkinson's Law for labor absorbing time allotted. Expenses tend to rise over time to meet income, or in the pro sports arena, salaries tend to rise over time to exhaust salary cap.netboy65 wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 14:16 pmDid you ever stop to think that with the cap going up, so will salaries?
