Burleson squares up the ball a lot more. Naylor seems the more apt comparison, which doesn't really excite me because a 1-2 WAR 1B is not that useful to a winning team.Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑01 Aug 2025 22:32 pmA right handed Alec Burleson, assuming that this current version of Alec Burleson is the true Alec Burleson? Hopefully without the splits issues. An Old Friend wrote: ↑01 Aug 2025 22:03 pmI’ve said it a couple of times… I could see him being similar to a guy like Josh Naylor… .280-.300 type with 15-20 HR, 80-100 RBI, low strikeouts
I'd take that. Praying they can unlock that sought after power, though.

Naylor was worth 5 fWAR 2023-2024 and Cleveland went to the ALCS. He was an integral part of that. Granted he went 30/100 so that’s more than we’re talking about right now.3dender wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 07:20 amBurleson squares up the ball a lot more. I was going with bWAR, with fWAR be was a 2.5 WAR 1B at his peak, and the 4th most valuable position player each year.An Old Friend wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 08:34 amNaylor was worth 5 fWAR 2023-2024 and Cleveland went to the ALCS. So yeah, I guess if we get our own Jose Ramirez we might be able to afford a 2.5 WAR 1B for the long term, but otherwise Jordan may be more valuable to the team as a trade chip.

Tortie is Blaze Jordan’s ceiling comp IMO.
His numbers and defensive ability resemble Allen Craig’s

If he becomes Allen Craig (without the unfortunate injury) then that's a GREAT trade. Craig was a baller. Had a nose for RBI.Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 10:38 am Tortie is Blaze Jordan’s ceiling comp IMO.
