Yeah I'm dumb and naive I guess
If the Blues can put together a 12-game win streak to sneak into the playoffs, why can't the Cardinals?

Dare to dream.

If Cardinals don't make the playoffs...
I know this won't be popular on this forum and I'll take my lumps, but............BoSox, always been my second team since I was a kid.

Exactly.

Can fandom just be turned on and off? If so, I doubt you are much of a fan.

Personally, I will cheer for the Brewers--primarily because I cannot bear cheering for either the Reds or Cubs.

Nationally, I will at least pay more attention to the Mariners and potentially to any other team that Arenado may be traded to, except the Cubs, who secretly I would like to see pick up Arenado (just to see him finish in Wrigley).

I hope Maton is traded to the Brewers as well as Sonny Gray should he be dealt.

Not going to be cheering for any of the playoff teams. I do hope the World Series is San Diego vs Seattle or Toronto.

Technically I won’t “cheer” for anyone but the Cards.
I simply adjust my expectations to fit with reality.
I’ll be focused mostly on the progress of the younger players/prospects.
Excited about some of the minor league guys on the cusp of emerging.
At season’s end if the Cards are not in the playoffs I’ll decide which way to lean in the various series.

The Cardinals.

Actually, they might still be interesting.

Come playoff time, I like to see new blood in there. Detroit hasn't won a WS in 41 years.

Will always root for Cards but may not make it a priority to watch the games. I have mlb package and have watched just about as many Yankee and Red Sox games last few years. Strangely I get enjoyment from Yankees messing up and losing just to see how riled up their fan base gets.I usually have one game on my iPad and two or three games on multi view with mlb. Drives my wife nuts and have to mute the other games. Like to follow the Mariners but those west coast games are hard to stay up for and usually end up turning off and going to bed.

No care. The Cubs don't bother me like they used to.

I'll cheer for anyone who's wearing the Cardinal uniform. I may complain about them, but I'm still behind them.

The STL Cardinals.

Why do I say this? Because players come and go.

But my team is still here in St. Louis.
