I can understand that line of thinking. I'd say that quality starting pitching is incredibly hard to acquire and the Cardinals have a distinct lack of it, so that's why I'd hold out for it, but I get what you're saying. If they were able to acquire a stud MLB ready position player in the OF for Donovan, I could understand that as well.

Its a good point. Especially regarding the AS Donovan. Meanwhile we traded the compromised Bader for a very good Montgomery (at the time). They we traded a forever injured Edman for Fedde, then Edman suddenly got healthy and went on a tear, while Fedde was good for a bit then imploded. Point is, neither player we gave up for a more than servicable pitcher was at the trade value of Donovan right now.

As I was first and best to understand and explain 3 years ago, Mootbaar should be traded.
There are teams who could use a LH hitting, platoon, 4th outfield piece to plug in to the lineup based on daily matchup needs.
Houston could be one of them.

It’s simple bias.
He hates Nootbaar and loves Gorman.
I would deal Nootbaar before Gorman myself but the poster is a clown.
If Noot ran out into traffic to save a child he’d want him arrested for jaywalking!
He babbles in circles but he is comic relief.

I was actually the first and only to say Donovan would beat Winn, Herrera, Burleson, and Walker to MLB - and would be the best of the bunch.
Said it on this very forum after seeing him in ST in March of 2022.
I was right.
I have been right on Mootbaar for the past 3+ years as well - the only person who has been.
I was also the only person on the planet to correctly Arozarena's stardom, correctly analyzing he was the best of all the outfielders in the STL system.
Said that on this forum in September of 2019 after watching 2 games in AZ while I was in town for business meetings.
Gorman will be exactly who I have said he will be: a 25-30+ HR hitter if given 600 PA's a season (which, by the way, is the very pace he is on right now).
It is as certain as your next heartbeat that is exactly what will happen.
No one is right every time - but I am more accurate in correctly analyzing and predicting outcomes for young STL position players than anyone you have ever read or ever will.
Frankly - it's not that difficult.
All it takes is the willingness to see players without bias or agenda.
