Omg. One game. Revolt! Let him grow and come up next season. It’s not rocket science

That would be the smart move. He’s not going to be a guy who comes up and leads the cardinals to the post season this season he’s not a pitcher. Wait until September call him so he will retain his rookie status for next season win rookie of the year and get a draft pick. Bringing him up now would only make some fans happy who a lot of which will be the same ones who turn on him as soon as he slumpsCusecards wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 14:36 pmSeptember certainly possibleCarp4Cy wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 13:06 pmSaggese should absolutely Not be looked at before JJW. He's already had some looks this year and pretty well flopped. And his fielding at 3b isn't going to magically start resembling Arenado's if we are just "patient". He's a backup at best right now but we don't need that backup. He's Not our future. The rest of that group - well, if we are in the playoff hunt in Sept, then its probably because we made a great trade involving Gorman or Donovan or someone and can fit JJW in. And if we aren't, then there's no harm in benching one of the starters to give JJW playing time in Sept. Sept callups have worked this way since forever with top prospects. Get them some experience before they have to start a full season from scratch.Cusecards wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 12:54 pmGreat points!Youboughtit wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 11:53 amThe problem is they now have JW Gorman Burelson Nootbar and Donovan all trying to get playing time between 2B RF and LF. What do you propose for Noot JW and Gorman?scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2025 22:45 pmHow is a proven college stud being rushed when he's the same age as JW is now, who came from high school. 6 of his fellow draft mates are in MLB.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2025 22:36 pmThey’ve hopefully learned their lesson about rushing players to the majors it’s dumbscoutyjones2 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2025 22:34 pmNope. Look...I’m psyched to see JJ but for the balance of the season you have a numbers crunch that needs to be sorted out.
Now there certainly could be deadline moves to alleviate some of that but most likely the deadline will involve pending FA’s and possibly Arenado?
Gorman and Walker are on the clock for 2025.
Heck....you don’t even have room to look at Saggese much less JJ!
