Oh oh, has Cranny heard yet Doyle might unleash a F bomb occasionally? What about the kids?cardini99 wrote: ↑16 Jul 2025 21:39 pmcraviduce wrote: ↑16 Jul 2025 21:34 pmThanks, cardini99. I wonder how many F-bombs he dropped after signing![]()
For those who don't know, he's very passionate and quite vocal when comes off the mound between innings. Especially with a strike out. I think he'll be fan favorite...I'm glad ESPN is dropping their Sunday Night basesball. We don't need him mic'd up on Sunday nights teaching the next generation of fans wirty dords![]()
would be an interesting mic up lol
Re: 2025 Draft Signings
Doyle signs for $7.25 million per Jim Callis

So close to $885,000ish under slot.

makes sense. I can't understand what went wrong with the Angels? Maybe he didn't want to play there and wouldn't meet their bonus demands?Futuregm2 wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 10:28 am Doyle signs for $7.25 million per Jim Callis

Re: 2025 Draft Signings
Possible, or maybe they ended up wanting the localish (California) kid and with the way he Bremner finished the season, they liked him a lot? I don’t know, but we’ll see how it all shakes out.craviduce wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 10:32 ammakes sense. I can't understand what went wrong with the Angels? Re: 2025 Draft Signings
He probably still makes more money than if he signed a full slot deal with a California team because of the taxes.

That's a lot of money to throw at that OF we took after Doyle. I would imagine he would be an above slot type of fella?Futuregm2 wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 10:28 am Doyle signs for $7.25 million per Jim Callis

Sorry, can't remember names. I've been moving homes this week. I think I probably fried a few braincells in this heat.
Re: 2025 Draft Signings
From the sounds of Ryan Mitchell’s interview that I saw yesterday, I don’t think we’ll have to go much overslot for Mitchell. He said his goal was at least $1 million after taxes and slot value of the pick was $1.72 million. He may be a bit above it, but not by too much.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 11:21 amThat's a lot of money to throw at that OF we took after Doyle. I’m actually wondering where all of the under slot money will go to because we took a lot of college players and I don’t remember many of them being the kinds of guys we’d need to go a lot over slot to sign.

Re: 2025 Draft Signings
there's one injured pitcher that may want to return to campus and rehab there? Extra money in the pocket will sway him away? We did it with FindlayFuturegm2 wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 11:23 amFrom the sounds of Ryan Mitchell’s interview that I saw yesterday, I don’t think we’ll have to go much overslot for Mitchell. Re: 2025 Draft Signings
Hmmm. Interesting. Is there any penalty for NOT using a certain amount of the draft purse? As I understand it, you get what you get and it doesn't get to roll over to next year, so there's no real incentive to NOT use up every penny.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑17 Jul 2025 11:23 amFrom the sounds of Ryan Mitchell’s interview that I saw yesterday, I don’t think we’ll have to go much overslot for Mitchell. Maybe they were banking on Mitchell to want significantly above slot.
Re: 2025 Draft Signings
Money not spent will go right back into Bill’s back pocket, I imagine. You know, that dry powder fund!
