Logan Mailloux is coming!!

I really liked how Bolduc progressed this year. I'm not loving this trade but I will of course give the kid a shot. Just seems kind of a desperation move. Bolduc is NHL ready. Is Mailloux ready to play fulltime in the NHL?

I absolutely HATE trading Bolduc. But this fills a pretty desperate need for the Blues and we have a ton of depth at wing. I wonder if the Blues think Stancl is close to being ready for that 3rd line.

Stenberg, Kaskimaki in my mind is closer, maybe Dean if he shows well

I knew about "The Incident" but didn't realize his potential until his name popped up in trade rumors yeasterday.


As far as "The Incident".... he was a 17 year old kid, four thousand miles from home and friends and he made a stupid teenage mistake. A shameful one, no doubt, but he handled it like a man, in my opinion.
I am a great believer in redemption, so- bring him on.

Probably necessary given our glut at wing and our lack of RHD prospects. I really like Bolduc though so in the moment I’m pretty meh. But Mailloux is a good prospect.

Armstrong might also think winger depth in UFA is more plentiful. That would also allow a winger spot open for Devo if the sign Granlund.

He is. Granlund getting a lot of attention right now, deservedly, but Dvorak is a faceoff specialist. He's 29. Fits the bill as a solid stopgap that won't break the bank if Faksa is out.

I’d be open to Dvorak, yeah. He could slot in at 3C and push Sunny down to the fourth line. Will be cheaper than Granlund.

And if anyone can help with any issues, it's Monty.

I think the kid is ready to step into the NHL. Last year his stats look decent in the AHL and he played a handful of games with the Habs.

Bolduc

I love Bolduc and his potential. However, his work on the 200-foot game is still pretty weak.

In the most important game of the season, which lasted nearly 100 minutes, Bolduc was dead last in TOI at 15:11.
Monty did not trust him.
Will he get better? Surely.
We are getting a guy who- if not for "The Incident" -would cost us a hell of a lot more.

I absolutely hate this move. I don’t like it from a hockey perspective. Bolduc is an established NHLer while Mailloux is still trying to fully make the jump. Only played 7 games for the Canadiens this season and was caved in defensively. He’s far from a sure bet IMO. I just absolutely hate it. I know he’s a RD and that’s a more valuable position than a winger but that doesn’t make up for the gap in value IMO. They were taken in the same draft - Bolduc was taken 14 spots higher and he’s shown he should’ve gone higher to date.

And then add in the off ice baggage/PR issues they’ll now have to deal with and…yuck. I just absolutely hate it on first reaction.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dvorsky ends up playing wing in Bolduc's spot. Similar to Thomas playing with Bozak early on. Just need to get that 3rd line center. Is Bozak available?

Is it just Bolduc? Nothin else? If so then that’s beyond fair, even tho I loved Bolduc and his potential, but if Mailloux hits, everyone’s gonna be extremely happy lookin back. This is the potential thumper with a kilker shot who hasnt come close to bein the finished product at age 22.
