Rain in the area this afternoon. Several forecasts have storms showers off and on. There is a level one, out of five, risk of severe weather. As of now, most of the activity is mid late afternoon.
Game should happen. Only issue is delays due to a rain shower or lightning. That would affect Gray reference to stopping and waiting.

I smell it too, dog. Do you think if it rains hard enough this afternoon, it could wash away the stench remaining from the last two games played at Busch?

That’s a lot of rain.
From maps, not a wide scale coverage especially in the evening. Maybe a delay depending on timing. But it should go on.
I always worry about delays disrupting the pitcher. In this case Gray who we need a stud performance from.

this game will go on as scheduled - I don't even see a delay!

Chances of rain at game time is 50 percent. Look for lightening delays. SPC has STL on the border of a sweeter spot of moisture. Several clusters of storms may ride the stalled front from SW Missouri north east to STL area.
How long will baseball wait it out today.

Darn. And we had a chance to “showcase” every poor pitcher that we have, right, Mo?

Good morning.
60 percent chance of storms beginning around three pm. Could be heavy. Chances we play are too low for zero.
Do we do a double header tomorrow with Skenes. Worst thing that could happen is we get rained out. Momentum killer.
This is what we talked about yesterday BDog.
From KMOV:
1pm - 8pm
scattered to heavy thunderstorms
Only hope is they exit the St. Louis metro and move south by 3-4 pm so they can get the game in.
With the ASB there's no need to rush for the teams to get to the next city and Braves all-stars are going home to Atl anyway.

There is a nice cluster SW of STL, predicted to miss west to north. However, a shift to the right so slightly would catch STL. On this one.
The area is in a trough of Low pressure, a stalled front. This creates a path of ieast resistance for storms. This trough boundary is nearing STL from the west.

KMOV did say worst should be south of St. Louis so fingers crossed!

Gray is pitching today, so it must rain. Can't be Sonny.

I mentioned earlier STL sits on the NW side of the moisture sweet spot. Meaning it’s possible for heavy storms, but more likely south to east, where the zone lies.

Good news it's overcast in St. Louis metro so no sunshine heat to fuel it.
